Day 7 Begin as you mean to go on

That was my thought when I went to bed last night. I had packed my lunch, checked my bag, laid out exercise clothes, and knew what I was going to wear. Those things make my morning more relaxed.

This morning I woke up without my alarm. Got up and did one video, then another. By that time, I was awake enough to do everything else. Husband and I started a read the Bible through in a year plan, and we even had time for that. I arrived at work right on time in spite of yet another change in the traffic flow around construction.

I brought a small coffeemaker to work before the holidays and was looking forward to making fresh coffee when I got there this morning. It made for a much nicer start than arriving with my half-warm coffee after grabbing it on my way out the door. Since I have breakfast early, I planned for a 100 cal mid-morning snack, a pack of plain cream of wheat. It always makes me think of Mr Woodhouse in Jane Austen's EMMA and his "thin gruel".

It was wonderful to come home to a pot of Irish stew that my daughter made. I measured out a portion when I'd love to had seconds and maybe thirds. Stuck to my one portion and continued to feel like eating more, but didn't. I didn't feel like doing anything, but put on some music and got busy. My lunch is made and tracked ahead of time, and I'm ready for bed.

Day 6 streak!

The new year is going great so far. Two big accomplishments today:

1. Woke up feeling really good and did 2 SP videos. I hope I feel that good tomorrow when I go back to work.

2. Managed potluck with only 461 cal. I ate strawberries, watermelon from who knows where this time of year, a few bites of potato salad, a small piece of cuban sandwich, and Weight Watchers pumpkin spice cake which I brought so I could resist other decadent desserts without feeling deprived. All in all, a big success!

1004 cal as of 6:30 PM, leaving plenty of room for a snack later (total for day = 2009

Day 5 Going Strong!

Woohoo! Going strong!

1209 cal & 22 fitness min which included 2 SP videos.

I'm a little worried about going back to work on Monday after two restful weeks. My challenge is to work on a daily routine till I have one that works. It will surely be easier with only one job. I will miss the extra time I've had to visit with SparkFriends and rack up Sparkpoints.
