First of all, confession time. Aside from the daily stretching I do in bed, I didn't exercise today. I got caught up in a book, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. What a hoot! It won't hurt me to take a day off once in awhile. I keep reading on here that I should be having some rest days from exercise, but I seldom do. Anyway, the book is making me laugh, and I can't wait to pass it along to my daughter.
I'm doing a three day challenge with a new Sparkfriend, and I've stayed comfortably in range today.

It's nearly my one year Sparkversary! Whatever I have & haven't done, I'm 30 lbs lighter, my closet is emptier because of all the too-big clothes I've gotten rid of, I've developed a workout habit, and I've hung in there whether I've been doing good or not.

1570 total, 20 cal over because of picking up fast food for dinner. However, when you consider what fast food can be, I think did very well. Plenty of exercise today, too.

Arghh! Where have the last couple of days gone? I've had a potluck, a brunch, an unexpected lunch out, and high tea. Needless to say, calorie tracking was problematic, and I'm certain I was over on Sat, Sun, and Mon. It actually feels very good to truly be back on track for a "normal" day today.
I tried something different this morning. Usually when I've had several off days in row, I'll crack down and eat on the low end to make up--and then find myself wanting to eat more. Well, this morning I ate exactly what I wanted, which was two, not just one, frozen lowfat Nutrigrain waffles with crunchy peanut butter and honey. That was about 25 cal over my breakfast allotment, but I didn't get hungry till lunchtime. I did it again for lunch, ate what I wanted: two crispy fresh celery stalks with neufchatel cheese and half a box of organic raisins and a glass of 1% organic milk. I know that wasn't enough protein, so when I got hungry later, I ate 2.5 oz of baked chicken breast, no skin for a total of 325 lunch calories. I'm spending today simply noticing what I want and how much of it. I will probably end up within calories, or I might not. Could be this no pressure approach is what I need at the moment.

and from there, don't know. I hosted potluck and singalong fellowship gathering this evening. I ate moderately and enjoyed some of everything, including dessert. My curried turkey salad was a hit, along with my low cal pumpkin spice cake.
I'm very tired tonight and can hardly wait to put my nightshirt on and go to bed. The house is clean, nearly everything is put away, and the yard looks great. And we had a great time!

Good exercise today. I made a workout out of putting laundry away while marching in place and putting items away one at a time. Did a SP video, stretching, walk.

total 1705 - too much dinner, over by 145. Not bad. There are days like this when I seem to want a bit more fat. It wasn't sweets or carbs, just higher fat & cal than usual.
