Back in Action!

Monday, August 11, 2008

Ok so I've been gone a LONG time! I changed it up a bit and I tried a workout group that was amazing! I loved having a group to support me. I had to stop since the wedding is getting close but I am trying to keep it up!

I didn't lose the weight like I had wanted BUT I did finally get passed 173 lbs and have stayed under that. That might seem small but its HUGE to me. I am so excited about that.

Here is to a new me on SparkPeople!

I'm so glad to see you back! Good for you for renewing your commitment to good health. You have a great attitude, so you're well on your way to getting back on track. Just remember that there is lots of support on SP whenever you need it. We're all on this journey together! WooHoo!

A bit down...but trying to keep my head up

Monday, December 10, 2007

So I'm def a bit discouraged. The weightloss is not happening. I joined in Sept and I've lost a whoppign 5 lbs. so not fair! I'm keeping positive but sometimes I can't help but be down....

Well I've decided to regroup. Tonight, I am going to make a list of 3 things that I currently do that are good. This is to show myself that I did make positive changes. Then I'm going to make a list of three things I want to change. This will give me a new heathly habit to pick up.

Just stick with it and maybe try a new exercise or two. I started with only a few exercises but added one every week after I got bored. that way I could stay motivated and remember it isn't all a waste you are building muscle with your exercises, and muscle does weigh more than fat. You can make it happen. Consistency and Positive Thinking will help a lot and when that doesn't do it we are here for you.

That is a great start. The other thing is re-examine your food & exercise. Remember - our bodies get used to the same exercises over and over. A change in routine works muscles differently which can lead to weight loss. And - your food combinations may not be working for you. Go to the meal planner and click on their meals to get an idea of variety. That helps as well. Stay with it - you can do this!

I've experienced a lot of progress first three months after joining SP. However, I have been in a plateau for the last four weeks. I actually gained a couple pounds back last week. I understand your frustration because I'm right there with you. You have a great attitude. I also need to regroup and focus all the things that I am currently doing right. I'm sure I can also come up with three things I can improve. Let's support each other and soldier on!

Snow, Wind, and more Snow!

Tuesday, December 04, 2007

Man is it blustery here! I feel like Winnie the Pooh in A Blustery Day! We got snow, which is fine, its upstate NY. But the wind has got to go! Ugha!

Anyway....I did 60 crunches and 15 push-ups last night. I almost let myself slack, but I figured if I do this every night, maybe it will help! Who knows!!

Hi - Congrats on doing those crunches & push-ups even when you didn't want to. My mil told me something she heard helps, when you are needing to do something that you don;t want to do, say to yourself, "I don't want to, but I'll do it anyway." Kind of validates your feelings but puts you in charge of them. Way to go! Jenny

WAY TO GO ON YOUR EXERCISES. I MAKE MYSELF DO MINE SOMETIMES EVEN THOUGH I DON'T WANT TO. NOW I JUST HAVE TO THINK ABOUT HOW MUCH BETTER I FEEL AFTERWARDS AND I CAN "JUST DO IT" LIKE THE COMMERCIAL. L.O.L.

My TV channel of choice is the Food Network. At times it seems like a torture, considering I am trying to eat more sensibly. Well, I consider it entertainment just to watch the shows. :-)
