Super Hero? Secret Identity?

Monday, November 03, 2014

Even though I have had some challenging times in my life, none have taken super-human strength from me. I have leaned on the Lord during those times. He is my hope and my strength. I am grateful that I can depend on Him, not just in challenging times but daily.

Secret identity? Am I wearing a mask to cover the real me? I don't let everything hang out on my sleeve. Neither do I wear a mask to cover who I am. I am willing to choose with whom I share the deeper parts of myself. I am willing to be vulnerable when it is helpful for those with whom I share.

A Trek Through the Woods

Sunday, September 29, 2013

I tried to upload my pictures but I didn't have very good luck. However, I took a neat walk through the woods behind our house today. I hadn't been back there in several years so it was like a new experience. I found a beautiful swamp in the back that I need to return to when the colors come out. I didn't see much wildlife other than chipmunks. I need to remind myself next time not to wear shorts, however. There were lots of branches grabbing at me!!

Sounds like a nice walk! I've always wanted to take walks through the woods. I live in a desert, lol, so I don't really have that choice right now! I'm just waiting for it to cool down some so I can at least walk outside in the park.

In the Arms of Jesus

Monday, May 27, 2013

My dear Taylor finished his fight unexpectedly this morning and is home with Jesus. He battled with kidney disease until about 2-3 weeks ago when his kidneys were removed. Even though my son was found to be a match as far as kidney donor, apparently his little 5-year-old body wasn't up to waiting until surgery. He was complaining that his stomach hurt Saturday at a family get-together, then again yesterday when he went with his family to the zoo. I wonder now if it was something besides his stomach that hurt. He will always be first grandson, my little Bud Boy. My grief will go on for a while but I KNOW I will see him again one day. And when I do, I look forward to hearing again the last words he said to me Saturday - "Love you, Grandma"!

Thank You For Prayers

Sunday, May 19, 2013

I asked for prayers for my grandson a couple of weeks ago. The surgery to remove both of his kidneys went well. However, after the surgery he developed pancreatitis. They kept him in the hospital a couple of extra days but he is beginning to feel better. The other good news is my son learned that he will be a match to donate one of his kidneys to Taylor. Taylor needs several weeks to heal from this surgery. Therefore it is looking like the transplant will take place in August. Thank you so much for all prayers. I am sorry I didn't update you sooner.

I am rejoicing with your family over the successful outcome of the surgeries that Taylor underwent. I will join my prayers, for the successful transplant surgery scheduled for August, with those of others. May the surgeon(s) be given God's wisdom as they perform the surgery & may Taylor's & your son's healings be completed in record time - all to the glory of the Creator!

God bless!
