The thoughts of going back home to WA.....is depressing to me.

Monday, April 20, 2009

I can feel the cold and rain before I get there. I know that there are a couple of months left of rain and cold nights and just dreary skies.

It depresses me to leave sunny sky's to head back to rain...

I must get a more positive attitude but it is hard to do.
Any suggestions?

I wish I could add kind words but I know exactly what you're saying.

Yesterday it was sunny and 70. Today it is raining and 52. If Norm and I had our way, we would turn this MH around and head right back to the sun!

I can say we are lucky to be able to escape the snow and enjoy the country. There are so many people that will never see and experience the things we have this winter!

You have made memories to last a life time!

Do you believe in Palm readers....?

Sunday, April 19, 2009

Hi:
I had my palm read yesterday She hit it right on in many ways. Missed it on a very few.
I liked what she had to say and that she knew my life as well as I did.

Do you believe in these people?

Many of my friends so believe in them, and they must be good and not so good palm readers. I am not so sure, cause I have never had my palm read. Could it be that they can read the the future by being logical.
I wish they were true, it would help me solve my problems.

Good Luck...Barbara La

How many people do you know who destroyed their life by being overweight?

Saturday, April 18, 2009

I see on Hell's Kitchen that the cook had to leave because of hart trouble. God is watching out for him. Maybe the kitchen is not the place for him. He was so happy on the outside but seemed to be crying within. He a;sp had a great chance of winning with his positive attitude. It was just NOT meant to be.

I was shopping yesterday in outlet stores and I heard this man ( a foreigner with a real slender build) "None of these clothes fit me. American's are too fat!
I don't know why that bothered me, except he was saying ALL.

I have come close to destroying my life because of obesity. Overweight all of my 40's and 50's. Missed out on a lot of fun because I was TOO TIRED. At 280 I should have died during my 1st double bypass in '91......did for 4 minutes......You'd think I had learned from that experience. Nope! to hard headed.....It took the second by pass, a triple, a 3 week coma, and losing my voice temporarily, in '07 to wake me up......I lost weight down to 197 but this past 4 months have gone to 215. So I have found Sparks and after just one week, I'm feeling better about everything. And doing better too! I'm 68 and want to live to see my grandchildren grow up, or at least graduate high school!

Desserts, ah desserts. The word is even nice isn't it. The main meal, is there anything on it that you can cut back on? Half a potato, no rolls light on the meat! Then when the dessert comes take the icing off a lot of suger and calories there and take s l o w bites , making it last. Then drinks LOTS of water and exercise like heck the next day. Or maybe jog in place while eating the dessert. That would be a picture wouldn't it! emoticonmPat

I wouldn't be able to turn it down unless I totally didn't like it such as a peanut butter something for me.
If you deny yourself and really wanted it you'll just be miserable....and life is too short. Just eat 1/2 of it if you can.
If you know your going to a party, that day exercise more and go light on the food during that day to make up for the party.
I've done that before going to a buffet and eating my weaknesses and I didn't lose but I didn't gain.

I eat dessert! I don't eat the whole thing. I do plan around it in my meal plan. You should not have to deny yourself. You can eat anything. Just watch the portion and be careful the rest of the day.

find your exercise...

Saturday, April 11, 2009

You will not like to exercise unless you like what you are doing to exercise.

Find what you like to do to move your body and trust me. It will work.....Anything to keep you out of the kitchen.

You're so right, Ruthann! Find what you like to do and do it - that's the only way to exercise, since we're gonna be doing it for the rest of our lives!!!! We might as well try to enjoy it, eh?

So what's this diet you and my mom (SharonSparkle) are doing? Would love to hear about it!
