It is Friday, Day 27

Friday, May 14, 2010

Went to the doctor and I have lost 7.9 lbs and I have a blood pressure of 110 over 82. I want the bottom number (resting heart rate) to go down a little more. Overall I am so happy with the progress.

My doctor was happier than me. He told me he expected the bp to go down with the meds but He was not expecting me to walk in and have lost weight and have a great bp emoticon. I told the doctor I found SparkPeople and it is helping me get on the right track to an overall healthy life style. He told me to keep up the good work and see me back in 6 months.

I did not get slack with my good news. I went to McDonald (Yes McDonald) and had a sugar free vanilla Iced Coffee. My treat to myself and less calories than a Frappe. I went to the Y and did my mini routines and had a nice salad afterward. Family members will be coming over to see my son whom is home for 2 weeks from college. I am preparing dinner grilled emoticon and veggie lasagna. I will be mixing emoticon non of which I want. I will stick to my emoticon

I am proud of myself and I am so thankful that I came upon SparkPeople. I can truly say "Without SparkPeople I would be 200lbs and on heavy medication". emoticon emoticon

Day 26

Thursday, May 13, 2010

emoticon my son is home for 2 weeks from college. I am surprised at myself because I have planned the menu for the weekend and part of next week. He is big on eating right and working out. He told me he has a workout plan for me. I am looking forward. You best know it will not be boring. I did not work out today emoticon shame on me. But I have learned I can not beat myself up when I don't follow my plan exactly.

OH! I do have a doctors appointment in the morning. I have a good feeling about my visit. It will be great. I have lost weight. How much I don't know and I have managed to keep the blood pressure down emoticon. Once I found out tomorrow what my weight is, I can come up with an additional goal for getting rid of additional weight.
Wish me luck! No I won't need luck. I have the Spark and a higher being on my side emoticon. After my appointment it will be no time for fun and games my son and I are hitting the gym.

Day 25 WooHoo

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

I did not go to the Y today. I am cleaning the house. Must get it ready for my son who is coming home from college for 2 weeks. I have his first meal planned and I am working on another. I do know we will cook out and I am having grilled turkey burgers with green peppers. I am hungry already. One thing about my son he was my inspiration to get back on track.

So far I have been doing really well with eating and exercising. If you notice there was a couple of days I talked about being bored at the Y. Well, yesterday day I did different machine at a high pace and that worked for me. Depending on my schedule tomorrow (hopefully my son will have arrived)I plan on returning to Zumba.

I posted on a blog and I hope I can practice what I speak. I told the person "Don't through in the towel, use it wipe the sweat" emoticon. For anyone who reads this blog and feel like giving up just remember not to through in the towel use that towel to wipe the sweat from exercising.

When you get bored, try another class or a different machine! I got bored running and so I only do it twice a week now...the other days I either walk outside or do cardio and strength classes. I find that changing up the routine helps me stick with it (and works my body better). I won't make it to the gym today...I have too much cleaning as well!

Day 24

Tuesday, May 11, 2010

I returned to the Y. I mentioned yesterday that I was getting bored with my exercise routine. I was asking for ideas on how to spice it up.

Today I did not get on one piece of equipment and stay. I worked out on various machines and I worked hard.

I got on the upright bike and rode hard for 5 mins. Next I was on the emoticon I used the highest incline for 4 mins and 0n my last min I used the lowest so I could bring my heart rate down emoticon. I did a few stretches and went to the recumbent bike and rode it for 20 mins. I also did the stairmaster and the upright bike each for 5 mins. Talk about tired. When I finished I was sweating and could feel I had worked out.

Tomorrow is my strength training day. I am thinking about going to the Y in the morning or the afternoon. I always go workout after work so I think my mind and my body need a change in the work time.

Looking forward to tomorrow and my son will be so proud of me when he gets here on Thursday emoticon

Day 23

Monday, May 10, 2010

OK. I am getting to the point where my exercise routine is boring. Anyone with any suggestions? I have started doing 10-15 minutes of various cardio machines to keep me iterested/motivated. I just don't know what I can do to kick it up a bit. I have got over 20lbs to reach my goal and I am determined to reach it.

I thought about getting a trainer but that will cost money I do not have. I am not giving up on exercising I just need something more so I don't get to the point where I was before not exercising. emoticon
