Alright, it's official: Roo and I are going to Pittsburgh. Since Friday, we've booked our flight, had her passport photo taken, secured our room reservation with the lovely Suezette AND ordered the passport. They assure me it'll be here by March 9th. *fingers crossed*
Now I have to, like, train. OMIGOSH. I haven't run a half marathon in almost a year. The MOST I've run is 10 kms and the most I will have run by the end of March is 12 kms (with a little bit of hill training). Having said that, I'm not in this to win it so, even if I have to walk, I will finish.
"Excited" does not even begin to describe how I feel right now. I've met a lot of Sparkpeople over the years but there are a few on this trip that I have waited years (YEARS!) to meet. I've been happy dancing since they gave me the receipt for Roo's passport.

    How exciting! I have met only a few people from SP and this will be by far, the most I will meet.

I have been sidelined with hip issues so I know I will be far slower on the 1/2 than you will!

    That will be the cutest passport ever. My younger brother has one like that on his green card from when we relocated from the UK to the USA.

Weekend Challenge - Pick two

Weekend: Pick two goals that are stretch goals for you, one food related and one fitness related; announce them to us by Friday morning and then track against them;
10 pts/goal/day + 5 pts bonus per day for completing both.

SO mine will be:
Food: 100% tracking. I usually only track breakfast on the weekend and then just let everything slide.
Exercise: At least 1 hr per day (cardio, strength, yoga)

Template:
Fri Food _10_(0 or 10 pts); Exercise __ (0 or 10 pts) Bonus_0_ (0 or 5 pts = (25 possible total)
Sat Food _10_(0 or 10 pts); Exercise _10_ (0 or 10 pts) Bonus_5_ (0 or 5 pts = (25 possible total)
Sun Food _10_(0 or 10 pts); Exercise _10_ (0 or 10 pts) Bonus_5_ (0 or 5 pts = (25 possible total)
Mon Food _10_(0 or 10 pts); Exercise _10_ (0 or 10 pts) Bonus_5_ (0 or 5 pts = (25 possible total)

Weekend Challenge: 4 x 50

The challenge runs from Friday to Monday and there are four possible components:

50 reps upper body ST
50 reps lower body ST
50 reps core work
50 minutes cardio

Points are awarded for each rep/cardio minute completed... with a maximum of 50 per category, per day. A bonus of 50 points will be earned daily if you max out all four components! Daily maximum is 250 and the overall challenge maximum is 1,000!

Here's the tracking template:

    You should be proud to that you tracked it all. I mean I usually give up when I don't have a good day. Like everyone else said...your a nursing momma. You have to eat more then just normal. Be kind to yourself!!

    I agree with Lizzie, is you're nursing there are different rules to go by in regards to calorie intake and SparkPeople (as wonderful as they are) just is not equiped to take that into account. So give yourself some slack :D. emoticon

    Is Roo going through a growth spurt? When she needs more, you will need to eat a bit more - they go hand in hand. I wouldn't worry about one day - you did that Burn workout the night before too, that could have something to do with being extra hungry.

Oh, and about the status comment...not really bribing him at all with popcorn. He is just being his protective self, and not wanting me out by myself. Since I still want to go, I just have to say I'm going, and he grudgingly follows. Kind of fun to get him walking that way, but it works!

    If you are still nursing you need to listen to your body! This could very well be what you needed. You don't eat like this everyday. Give yourself some slack!

    I can only echo what Sprouts said. Don't worry about one day in the day to day to day calories count. What counts is how you feel and that your weight doesn't go back up. Today will be a better day.

    One day at a time,Momma! So, yesterday wasn't the greatest...improve upon it today. :) What are you putting in that makes it so far over? Is it baked goods?(did I see you got some more from Auntie?) or portion sizes of healthy foods?

Plus-cut some slack. You're still nursing that sweet little Princess who needs a happy and well fed mommy. AND you got in a run!! Yeah, so maybe there's not a calorie deficit today,but you probably burned at least 1/2 of the extra calories. Not necessarily a way to lose weight,but it's not ALL lost.

BTW-HOW do you get your pie charts from nutrition page to your blog? It's really a good way to show how we ate.

    What state of mind were you in while eating? I know when I am frustrated, tired, overwhelmed I tend to eat more. A nap or taking a 5 minutes break helps me re focus. I hope today is better for you.

January 30 through February 5

I set some goals for myself in the "Reviewing January" blog last week. I've been REALLY trying but, I have to admit, my mind's not completely into the nutrition half of this healthier lifestyle that I'm trying to lead. To review the past week:
*More days within calorie range. - 2/7 DAYS. I missed one (01/31) by 44 calories.
*More gym time. - I went to two classes at GoodLife and ran 3 times.
*More days with at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies. - 5/7 DAYS.
*More days with at least 8 glasses of water. - 7/7 DAYS!

All in all not a bad week but I still want to do better with calories and freggies.

I'm trying something new starting tonight. One of my friends, and former GL co-workers, is starting a class called "BURN". Twice a week for the next six weeks, I'm in Ali's hands. I'm a little scared LOL.
