My "Ten Reasons To Keep Living Healthy"

1) I now have the energy to keep up with my children.
2) I can run. Not only have I achieved my "run the length of a soccerfield" goal that I set out for myself when I began my weightloss journey, but I can run a half marathon. And then some.
3) My thighs no longer rub together and I'd like to keep it that way.
4) Friendships - I've discovered what true friends are through the clubs I run with and the groups that I've joined on SparkPeople. It's given me the courage to rid my life of the toxic "friends" I've had in the past.
5) My sons, my stepdaughters & my guy :o) Everyone is living healthier because of the choices I've made. I love that I have had a positive influence on the people I love most in this world.
6) I have rediscovered my love, and ridded myself of my fear, of shopping for new clothes.
7) *Most* of the time, my skin looks great.
8) My self-esteem has never been this good.
9) I walk taller. Yoga and pilates have improved my posture. I'm actually 5'3"!
10) I'm smaller, and more fit, than I was in high school! I'm happier, too.

Well now, what a surprise it was to see this as the Healthy Reflection. This has been the screen saver on my computer for a while. And my sons teacher has the same saying posted in her classroom. It clicked for me the first time I saw it.
Those ten little words remind me on a daily basis that I am the only one in charge of me. If I have a goal, it's me that has to do the work to achieve that goal. If I do not achieve it, I am the only one responsible.
Others may, and have, supported me through the past few years that I've been on this journey but it's my will and determination and work that has brought me here.


  


Random thoughts

80 km winds here today. I actually skipped Clinic & ran at home because I couldn't keep my feet on the ground. Weirdness.

Bad food choices and unknown calorie counts the last few days have given me a 1.5 pound increase since Friday. That sucks.

All I want to do is eat chocolate. All I should do is eat veggies and exercise. Hopefully the should "wins". I'm going to smack the next person that brings chocolate in to work. Just because they don't have the willpower to walk away from it doesn't mean they have to test mine.

Not counting tomorrows run, I've gone 90.86 kms. Plus my 8.85 km walk. That's almost 100 kms this month. :o)
