Day 05 - A picture of your favorite animal
This is Hughy. AKA Hughcifer, Hughy the Wonder Dog, Hugho.... he's my best dog friend and I'm his Guardian.
Tonight I had to work late so Paul made me dinner: homemade cabbage rolls and mashed potatoes. My favourite! I'm such a spoiled princess.

Day 04 - A picture of the cast of your favorite TV show
Every Thursday, I sit down with Paul and we watch "Big Bang Theory". It's a show about four "geeks" and the wannabe actress, Penny, who lives across the hall from them. Or two of them, anyway. Here's a better description, if you've never seen the show: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Big_Bang_T
Off-topic(ish): Today was my major strength training day. I *love* going to Denise's class. Tonight though, it was one of her minions, Casey. Truthfully, I thought I was going to be sick on one occasion.... on another I wished I would so I could be excused from pushups w/the glider discs. Ugh.
When I was done, my Mom made us dinner - beef stew & dinner rolls, homemade cherry cheesecake for dessert! (Good thing I went to a workout that burns over 500 calories)
I got home and realized that I still had to do more than 400 stairs for my Dragon TNT challenge. I changed clothes, grabbed my doggy-friend, Hughy, and headed for the park. I did stairs while he ran around the park. I finished climbing 760 stairs in 15 minutes. I had a lot of fun and it's great training for the Climb for Wilderness that I want to do in April.
Tomorrow is a yoga day.

Day 03 - A picture of your inspiration for weight loss.

See a difference? My inspiration for weight loss, though it started as "I want to walk w/o my thighs rubbing together" and "I want to be able to keep up with my sons", is happiness. As a divorced, overweight mother of two sons, I wasn't happy. I loved every minute that I spent with them but when they were sleeping, or with their dad, I was lost, alone and sad. *I* had to do something for me to make *me* happy. So I hit the gym, joined an online community, took up running and FINALLY found Sparkpeople. Now, 11 years after that first picture was taken, I'm a happier person. When I'm alone, I'm still happy.

Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest.
This one's really hard. A few years ago, right around the time I started running, I did a little "friendship evaluation". I thought hard about the people that I called my friends and made some tough decisions about whether they should be in my life or not. Those that were just in my life so that they had someone to go drinking with, speak negatively to or that just weren't adding anything positive to MY life were removed from my life. It was really hard to see some of them go and others it was no big deal. You see, when I started making new friends through running - friends with positive attitudes and healthier habits, people that were there for me when I needed them and accepted my help when they needed it.... I realized that, sadly enough, I had no real, true friends. So! My choice for the person that I've been closest with the longest is my Sparkbuddy KWASYLIW and real life friend - Kerry.
I don't know if she'll see this but I hope that, if/when she does, she realizes how much her friendship has meant to me these past few years. Thanks lady. I love you.
