"I used to be fat"Monday, January 03, 2011
Thanks to one of my LIC team members who mentioned this MTV show on her blog. I think I found a new show to watch & find inspiration. It follows overweight, graduating, high school students who are moving onto college and want to improve their health. Here's the link: ![]()

Link away! Yeh, I was kind of irked, too. Ok - keep the teen away from the junk but give it to the little ones? Seems like the best way to repeat the cycle. I don't keep a lot of crap in my house. My mom always says there's "nothing to eat".

This is great. Thanks for the pointer to this. What irks me is that her mother is keeping food like that in the house for the six year old??!! Like the little kid is going to learn proper eating habits from someone who lays traps like that for her older sister? It is even *more* critical for the six year old to eat healthy food. Argh! Anyways, thanks. I'm going to share this on my page too, if you don't mind. Report Inappropriate Comment |

This is me and my friend, Rebecca, she's one of my bestest friends.
I spent my last night in the year 2010 running and watching movies with 2 out of 3 of my favourite men. The third one ditched us to sleep over at his friend's house... rotten kid.
To start tho', Paul and I did the "Resolution Run". It was my 6th and his 2nd. We aced it. They gave us hot chocolate and cinnamon buns to celebrate our victory. After, we grabbed a pizza, some wings and some popcorn and headed back to finish off the night with a few good movies and my oldest son, Colin. Logan was the ditcher
For those of you keeping up with my blogs, I did NOT meet my December goals. Not all of them, anyway. I did pretty okay with the basic nutrition stuff - fruit, vegetables, water - but I didn't do so well with my actual calories. I also did not add more than a couple strength training sessions in. No yoga whatsoever. Am I disappointed in myself? A little. If I had a really good reason for not succeeding, I'd be ok but I did not. That was December, though, and this is January 2011. I have some new goals.
#1 - water - my new water bottle holds 600 ml of H2O and I intend to drink four of them a day.
#2 - fruits/vegs - I'm continuing to consume at LEAST five servings a day.
#3 - exercise - I've told my new BLC15 team that I will do 210 minutes a week of exercise.
#4 - blogging - I will blog a minimum of once a week.
#5 - strength training - I'll keep adding this to my list until I do it - once a week.
#6 - yoga - once a week (when I don't have the boys) for sure...
#7 - track my food 7/7 days and stay in range at least 5/7.
That's all for this month. So far, so good.
