BMI = 22.1

According to the Fitness Depot website, my BMI is 22.1 which is "normal" weight. (18.5-24.9) They base this on my height, weight, gender and age. I'm okay with normal. =) The provincial average is 26.4 and the national average is 26.3 -- so now I'm below average, too. I guess that part's ok.
They also offer these bits of advice:
A mixture of cardio and resistance training is the best way to build muscle tone while at the same time maintaining a healthy weight.

Interval training is a great way to boost your current exercise activity, improve endurance and spark a renewed interest in your workout routine.

Resistance training can help raise your metabolism, help you avoid injuries, and strengthen bones this is especially important for women, who are at higher risk for osteoporosis as they get older.

Offset strength training with core strengthening and flexibility exercises it will help prevent injuries and are very important aspects of good physical fitness.

Canada's Physical Activity Guide recommends that you accumulate 30 to 60 minutes of physical activity on most days of the week the good news is you can accumulate your activity in 10-minute sessions.

Overall, it's best to choose exercises you enjoy doing you'll be more inclined to stick with a fitness regimen when it includes things you like to do.

I had to giggle a little. One of the products they then recommended for me is the TRX system. Ahhh, NO. LOL, ok sometimes if I have to. The TRX and I have a love/hate relationship. Not sure I'll ever love it enough to put it in my house. Maybe someday.

I made the decision to go to Boston Pizza with the kids tonight. That choice, and a couple of others, created an "over" of 500 calories. I didn't do any kind of workout either. I can't explain the mood I'm in but it's horrible. Funk kind of covers it. I'm blaming it on life decisions and PMS. I hope it's gone when I wake up tomorrow.

Plateau Buster Challenge - End of Week Two

Week two was April 10 though 17th. The challenge was to try for a wider variety of foods and mix up your calories at least three times a week. I ate within my calories on three days , under on one and over on the other three.
THE RESULT - I gained 0.6 kg

Not a horrible gain but a gain nonetheless.

Week three began on April 18th and the challenge is to add some variety to your strength training routine, either by trying some new equipment, or by changing the exercises you're currently doing.

Hm, I haven't done ST in a few weeks so I guess it'll be a change just doing it.

Plateau Buster Challenge - End of Week One

Week One:
The challenge was to incorporate new cardio routines one or two times this week. Monday, I went and walked the stairs for an hour. Friday, we introduced speed training to our running schedule.
For the week ending Sunday, April 11th, I lost 0.8 kg.

Week 2:
This challenge begins on Sunday, April 10th.
This week's challenge is to aim for a wider variety of foods and mix up your calories at least three times a week. Instead of eating at the bottom of your range all the time (or the middle, or the top), try a few days at the lower end, a few days in the middle and a few days at the top.

This week should be a real challenge as I'm already having issues staying within my range for calories. Bleah. I don't like food challenges.... yet

    Suezette, the stairs that I did during that week were just training stairs ... On the 17th, though, I climbed the Calgary Tower in support of the Alberta Wilderness Assoc.

    Way to go! Where did you climb stairs? Was it for a fund raiser type thingie? I've heard of those but haven't been to one.

    Under "Healthy Lifestyle" in the start page bar there's a choice called "Motivation". After you click on that, there's a picture of a group of four people and the words "Challenge Central". Click on that. The "Plateau Buster" challenge is on-going but there's another in May called: SparkPeople's Official Healthy Habits Challenge. I've also joined that one (following Nancy's lead).
I'm going to do the Climb this weekend. It's not optional, I'm determined to climb those dang stairs.
The snow is not gone... it was.. and then it started to snow again today. I'm seriously considering moving to Arizona LOL

    Where are you getting these challenges from? Are you just making them up for yourself? What have you decided about the C4W challenge? Is your snow all gone yet? We were supposed to get rain today, and I even washed my car to try to insure it, but no such luck. It was all cloudy and gloomy this morning, looked promising, then the darn wind came up and blew all the clouds away.

Keep us posted on how this works, since I'm on a killer plateau myself I might have to give it a try, although I also don't like food/calorie challenges.

So this is what I had to deal with.. in April... add to that three power outages and my evening was PEACHY

ETA, I just noticed that the blog says Friday but I blogged on Thursday... weird.

  Sorry about the snow. Here in Manitoba it is ok for temp but the last 2 days have been very windy. We might get snow on Monday. I sure hope not. We just got rid of all our snow.
