March Be Gone - March 31st , 2009

March ended on a really good note. I've had two calorie days in a row that I can be proud of PLUS, I've already done enough cardio this week to BURN 1283 calories. My goal is 1800 a week.
Other good things that happened in March:
My goal of 60 miles per month - I achieved 60.52 miles!
I celebrated 5 years of being a runner on the 27th emoticon
I went back to work (casually) at KF thereby eliminating some of my financial stress.
BAD things about March:
I gained weight and now have to lose 8 pounds to make my 5% goal
My latest and last pair of Nike Perseus are dying and I have yet to find a good replacement shoe.
I had only three days that I achieved my calorie goals.
But enough about that... it's in the past and I cannot change anything about it now.
Today, I consumed 1779 calories.
I burned 279 during my 4.68 km run with Hughy. It took us 30 minutes. He's got to learn how to read his "mail" a lot faster.
I scored 8/6 for fruit and veggies.
I got a 8/8 for water.

I hope April is as much of a success as these past two days have been. I also hope that I can someday fit my mini ice cream sandwiches into my day. They're only 100 cals but I seem to enjoy everything else too much to save room. LOL. Poor me.

    I wish you luck for this new and bright month that is ahead of you!
I was naive this morning and thought it'd be a beautiful spring day... until I went outside and saw it was snowing - again! Quite the surprise... April Fool's weather on us? Hopefully your wish will be heard and winter will finally go away :)

  Yay! It sounds like you ended March on a very strong note and are looking forward to success in April :) My goal is to burn 1800 cals a week with cardio too seems like an achievable number.

Your little 100 cal ice cream sandwiches are just like my 100 cal soynut butter on a cracker obsession, lol, if I want it bad enough I will make room for it :)

A good start to the sixth week

Yesterday I only went 41 calories over the top of my range. In my defense, if this had been last week I'd have been under because my range changed on Sunday when I adjusted my calories burned for the week. Oh well.
I had TEN servings of fruit and vegetables.
I drank TWO litres of water.
I did over 30 minutes of cardio.
I did two sets of the FitFix circuit.
In other words, I met all of my goals for the day. I can't wait to see what today brings.

Week 5 draws to a close

Last week's challenges were:
Nutritional - 2L water/day, 6 servings of fruits/veggies
Cardio - 30 minutes per day 6/7 days OR 180 minutes total for the week
Strength - planks (3 @ 30 seconds), 2 full-body workouts
And another pound release!

So how did I do?
water - 6/7 days
fruits/veggies - 4/7
cardio - 258 minutes
strength - no planks but I did do ONE full body workout
pound release? NO

Better luck this week. Richard's vowing to start eating healthier so that'll be a help of sorts. The kids are back at their dad's, too, and that will mean less chance of my eating out or eating less than nutritious snacks with them. Can I get back on track?

    I am sure you will be on track this week! It's sunny out, we can already hear Summer around the corner. AND the snow is melting (until the next dump...)! It's great that Richard has the intention to go in your direction regarding healthy eating - I hope he sticks to it! Good luck for your goals this week!

I'm up early on another SNOWY Sunday morning to head to the Running Room for our LSD run. For the third or fourth week in a row, Mother Nature has decided that we need to run in 3+ inches of snow. I have NEVER seen this much snow in a 16 week clinic before. I gotta tell you... much needed moisture or not... I'm getting a little peeved. emoticonC'mon Spring!!! Get your butt in gear, I know you can kick winter's scrawny behind out of Calgary for good! Do it!!! emoticon

Breakfast was good this morning.
Lunch is already made and will ALSO be good.
Just have to keep the snacks and dinner in line and it'll all be A-OK today.
Yesterday, not so much. :~) Dinner was at Montana's. Enough said.

  I know! We drove home from Airdrie last night in a freaking blizzard and woke up this morning with more snow that ever in the backyard....more than a tad depressing! I hope your run goes well, I'm sticking to the treadmill today :)

    Ugh! I feel for you! I just did 7 miles and it's 40 degrees and raining. Yuck! I got absolutely soaked! It's just got to improve!

    Penny---we have rain right now and its 56....might get wet snow tonight, be cool tomorrow and then it looks like where we are to be with the weather.....I am sending the Buffalo weather up your way girl...enough already!!!

I need to get my eating back in check still.....bad choices..over on calories....

    I know how you feel about being ready for spring. We had a very snowy winter, and they are calling for possible snow showers today here in Ohio. I hope you are able to get out and run. Be safe!
