Our challenges for this week are:
Cardio: 10 kms. Walk, run, bike
Nutrition: 6 servings of fruits and vegetables
Water: get your 8 cups a day (2L)
Strength: full body workouts - twice
I slept in until 10:00 today. When I finally got up and at 'em, I spent the day with Logan watching a movie and then I gathered up the rest of them and headed out to Cochrane for ice cream. If I'm going to splurge, it's going to be the very best: McKay's!!
Tonight we had a turkey dinner. I didn't weigh/measure anything exactly but I think I have a reasonable eye for it by now. Hopefully, I stayed within my calorie range because I have to present my journal to Chas. Ugh... I love turkey but I hate (HATE) the turkey hangover. :~) I hope I can stay awake for Biggest Loser!

Ugh - another early morning and another session of Boot Camp. Actually, I liked that part. I have to say, though, the sight of my own sweat dripping onto the gym floor was a little unnerving LOL. I HOPE that after six weeks of these classes, I'll have increased my upper body strength. I have got to learn how to do pushups. My limit is 10 per set and I need a good deal of rest between sets. I'm really poopered. And famished!
Oh and I'm so proud of myself!! I went into Superstore and all the Halloween candy is marked down... they had all my favourites and I WALKED AWAY!

I kind of fell off the blogging bandwagon for a couple of days but I'm back on track now.
On Sunday, I did my first long run in a long time. Actually, it was my first outdoor run in two weeks. Not that good considering I have a half marathon to complete this coming Sunday. The only other exercise that I got that day was grocery shopping. :~) In my downtime, I did make a decision to swear off fast food for the month of November. So far, so good.
Monday morning was my first day of Chas' boot camp. It was challenging but doable. I don't have any DOMS so I guess I'm ready for tomorrow's class. She promises to make each of the remaining 5 weeks more challenging than the previous week.... I'm thinking she wasn't kidding when she said one of us was going to puke. I just hope it isn't me.
Last night, I had another email showdown with the ex. Apparently, the upcoming long weekend isn't a real long weekend. Not by society's definition (his words). I say that if every school, public and separate, in Calgary is taking Monday off then it most certainly DOES count. But hey, what do I know?
On a good note.. I did not eat in anger.
Oh and I've been tracking my iron levels through Spark again. I'm back in the ranges for that, too.

I had a really eventful day. I worked until 12:30 and then I headed to Cardel to the blood donor clinic. For the second time since I've been donating, I was turned away for low iron. I was so bummed. I used to be very good about monitoring my iron intake and the moment I let my guard down BAM, low iron. Home for a sandwich (tuna LOL) and I was on the road again.
My next stop was Inner Spirit Photography. I have to say that, for as nervous as I was, it was a LOT of fun. I spent five hours in various stages of undress and in about a hundred different positions. I have a whole new respect for models because it is not easy to relax and feel comfortable and it is NOT easy to hold a pose. I go back to pick out my favourites on Monday, the 10th. From what I saw today, I should have no trouble picking out a half dozen or so.
Nutritionally, today was another good and bad day.
Three servings of fruit, three of vegetables, 3.5 litres of water.... and 2370 calories. Over again.
So here's my newest goal: NO fast food for the remainder of November.
This is going to take some willpower.

I was doing really well today and then I got hungry. Really, really hungry. So I had some pretzels, twizzlers and banana bread. Now I'm really over on calories. 508 over. Omigosh. I think my nerves about my photos have kicked in full throttle.
Alright, focus on the good:
4 servings of fruit
4 servings of vegetables
1 hour of BodyStep and 15 minutes on the Cross Trainer (elliptical w/attitude)
2L of water
I burned off more calories today than the amount that I went over by. Hopefully, that means I'll maintain and not gain this week.
