22,750 calories - Holy S%&$

Saturday, May 31, 2008

Ok, my friends, something has to change in my house. Since leaving for Halifax on May 11th (20 days) I have gained 6.5 pounds. That's 22,750 EXTRA calories that I've consumed based on the 3,500 = 1 pound of fat. And yes, it's definitely fat. I can see it everywhere and feel it in my jeans.
The plan for today:
3 good meals
3 good snacks
2+ litres of water
20 min FitFix
5 km run
I have adjusted my ticker to read my current weight. I will not (NOT) be this way for very long. I've grown too accustomed to the new me to turn back now.

9:00 p.m. ETA: Today I had 3 good meals & 2 good snacks. I didn't do the FitFix or the run but I did do a 60 minute BodyPump class. Total calories in = 2051 Total calories out = unknown

FitFix is the series of machines @ GoodLife that have been set up for 20 minute circuit training. I actually decided to do the BodyPump class instead...

Wow, it's amazing to hear it put like that!
I find it hard to believe that you ate THAT many extra calories... I think a lot of the weight is water, because I'm sure your sodium intake over the course of the past 20 days has been higher in salt then usual!

I don't doubt you will make this change, Penny!!!
You know what to do, now GET TO IT!!! :) emoticon

PS... what is FitFIX?

A week in Nova Scotia

Monday, May 19, 2008

For the past week I've been vacationing in my hometown of Halifax, Nova Scotia. I didn't have internet access but I DID write down everything that I ate. I've decided that I'm not going to put it in my food tracker though, it would just take too long.
The week was pretty good. I did a lot of travelling and a lot of visiting. I also ate large quantities of fish & chips, donair and hamburgers w/french fries & gravy. I even drank a few beer.. emoticon
Yesterday, I did my 2nd Bluenose Half Marathon. I finished in2:15:00.7 The conditions were perfect for running. Absolutely awesome. And now I have a new PR for this course. Last year I completed it in 2:16:16.8 That's more than a minute less. I can handle that. Next year, I'm looking at a 2:05. Hey - it could happen.

It sounds like you had a great time away. I am glad you are 'home', if that at all matters.

I have total confidence that you can achieve that 2:05.

I'm glad you enjoyed your weekend... and I hear ya about the tracker thing... I luckily only had 1.5 days to finish tracking because one of the days was my FREE day!

Sounds like you had an AWESOME race, girl! Keep up the awesome progress! I totally believe you could break 2:10 next year! GO GIRL!!!

I quit my job today

Friday, May 09, 2008

My final day at Job #1 will be May 30th. I cannot believe how emotinal a decision it turned out to be. Sure, I've not been truly happy for a few months and yes, I've found a job (#3) that I enjoy immensely but it was still a VERY tough (final) decision to make. So! I sent GL my available hours and, as a last resort, guaranteed myself some part-time work at Timmie's if I need it. :~) It will all work out in the end.

I was late for work.
Some crazy woman called me a liar and yelled at me.
My 80 calorie chocolate bar was NOT 80 cals total.
I didn't resist the meatballs at supper & now I'm 600 calories over for the day.
My NEW new shoes hurt my feet so I can't run in them. Which means that I could only burn 125 calories off on the treadmill.

ARGH!!!

I drank my water, ate my veggies and fruit and tried to do cardio. It was still a horrible, terrible, no-good, very bad day.

Week 10, Day 1

Tuesday, May 06, 2008

Calories - 2099 Veggies - 4 Fruit - 2 Cardio/Strength - None
This wasn't exactly a perfect day but close enough ESPECIALLY since I also pulled off seven hours of sleep last night (whoohoo!)

Something cute happened tonight. I called into GL to cancel my tanning and was asked if I was working tonight... when I said no she said "awww". She was genuinely disappointed :~) That's never happened before. It feels good.

OH! and I was down to 121 this morning!!
