I love this quote about goals. And it's so true. I mean, how many of us are actually doing what we said we would do "when we grow up". Myself, I wanted to be a police officer.
Even with Spark, my goals have changed several times over the past (almost) two years. Lose, maintain, even gain. Sure I'm where I want to be now, but maybe in 6 months I'll rethink that, too. Regardless, I'm always striving and THAT, I think, is what is most important.
Tonight, I'm double dating with Kerry and going to the Juno cup. I sure do hope I can get some good photos of the "Rock Stars" playing hockey. Jim Cuddy, Aaron Lines, Shane Yellowbird & Tom Cochrane are playing just to name a few. Who can beat it? Sexy, talented, sweaty Canadian music artists.... *sigh* it's a good night to wear a bib. LOL

It started out to be just another crazy Monday and ended up one of the best days of the year. Not only did I make this day two of a "within calories" streak but I landed my dream job. It's just part-time for now until we see if it's a good match but who knows where I could be in 6 months?
Last week was a good exercise week. I ran over 20 kms, went to a strength training class and took my first BodyFlow class at Goodlife. Omigosh, it hurts to sneeze today. My obliques are KILLING me!

Tuesday ~ Paul Brandt (FRONT ROW BABY!!)
Wednesday ~ 4 kms + 6 Hills
Thursday ~ 3 kms + 7 (more) kms
Friday ~ the Juno Cup!!!
Saturday ~ Pure Strength
Sunday ~ CBI Hustle for Hunger AND my first shift at my new part time job
This week's challenges in the 5% challenge are:
*Move at least 10 kms

The past week has been HORRIBLE for calories in for me. Yesterday was over 2700, today over 3000. Crazy! So here's what I have to do: I have GOT to get my eating back under control OR I have to exercise enough to wear off the extra 1700 calories I've had in the past two days. LOL. It's going to be a tough weekend because you know that I will NOT accept a weight gain this week.
On the plus side, I have been eating my fruits & veggies, drinking my water and taking my multivitamin. And since last Sunday, I've run 3x for a total of 19 kms. That's some good in all this bad.

The camping Gods must hate me.
Two and half hours after leaving Calgary we arrived at campsite 22. In case you've never put up a 10' x 12' tent by yourself, it's not the easiest thing to do but I did it! and that was pretty much my only accomplishment in our 2 days away. With the tent up & air mattresses aired, we headed for the Lake. Can I just say that if you make something a tourist attraction, and expect 1000's of people to visit it you should make sure the beach and water are clean. BLECH!!! After an hour of watching the boys brave the algae filled water (you have to walk out six feet before there isn't a skiff of algae on the lake) we headed back to the campground. My first job is to get the BBQ (charcoal) up and running so I can make supper. It's a wonder I didn't blow myself up with all the lighter fluid I used. Come to find out (and you all probably knew this) you have to pyramid the coals, soak it with fluid and let it absorb a bit before you hit it with a lighter. click, click, click... no flame in the lighter... so I grab a match. It's 45 mins later, I've gone through 1/4 of the container of lighter fluid, called Glen and VOILA! it's lit. We ate supper at 9:00 at night. Meanwhile, I have to get a fire started. *sigh* Chop wood, set it up and light a match, right? NO. Not when I'm in charge. Nearly a full box of matches later (there are 32 in a box, btw) I have a beautiful roaring fire. Hot chocolate, wash the dishes and put the fire out. OK, now I've almost blown myself up. Apparently, throwing the dishwater on the fire to put it out was a very bad idea as I am now covered in ashes and seriously rethinking any future plans for camping.
(side note: Colin and Logan have now said "if glen was here" approximately 38 times)
Tuesday morning I wake up to a dancing Colin and a plea for me to crawl out of my toasty warm bed to run to the bathroom with him. I'm am so getting "mother of the year" for this one. Get back, get snuggled and I hear "mommy I need to go, too". RAWR Thankfully, by the time I get to the van (15 feet away) Logan has already reached the bathroom... I'm still rooting thru the van for food when he comes back and gives me heck for not running there with him. Back in the tent and having dined on a gourmet breakfast of cereal bars, we snuzzle back into our sleeping bags for just a few more minutes. *drip, drip, drip* GRRRRR "Mommy, the tent's leaking". (can I cry now?)
Now there was some last resort hoping that the rain would end and we could stay another night BUT sufficed to say the tent, etc was torn down and crammed into the van the moment I heard from the office that I could get a (HA HA F'ING HA) rain check to come stay another night....
We're back in Calgary now.
