My Half Marathon Clinic

Wednesday, June 20, 2007

So tonight was class 1 of the clinic that I'm instructing with Howard. All in all it wasn't that bad. I got nervous. And anxious. I expected both of those. Luckily, there were some familiar faces in the group that I could talk to so those emotions started to go away.
Our run was good. It was about 4 kms. I had to stop at the 7-11 because my Lean Cuisine betrayed me but all in all, I kept a 6 minute pace. Not too bad.
Tomorrow is just an ordinary Wednesday night run. We're going to do 3 at tempo so hopefully, I'll be able to keep the pace @ 6 again. No, wait, not hopefully.... I will keep a 6 minute per km pace.

Goals

Monday, May 28, 2007

When I committed myself to Spark, my goal was to reach a weight of 137. By tracking my food & exercise, I not only met that goal but I also released an additional 15 pounds.
My next goal was fitness related. I wanted only to set a personal best for my half marathon in Halifax. Last Sunday, I beat my previous finish time by almost 30 minutes, 0:29:54 to be exact.
For the past three days, I've been trying to come up with a new goal(s). It's not as easy as I thought it would be. Glen suggested that I strive for A's when I get to school. That's a good start but a) it's not going to keep me eating well or exercising and b) school doesn't start until September.
Alright here we go:
~continue tracking my calories so that I maintain my current weight.
~run at LEAST 60 miles a month. Strength train no less than once a week.
~register for & run the Okanagan Half Marathon and meet or beat my PB of 2:16:16
