I don't usually plan meals this far in advance but, for the sake of earning points, I'll take a stab at this. My breakfasts are usually the same thing(s) and I try to keep it under 500 calories including my coffee with cream, milk, cereal and banana.
Lunch is either leftovers from the night before or a sandwich with turkey OR a salad.
Dinners, and this is where it gets harder for me, are unplanned and usually decided around lunch time. So here goes:
Thursday: today, will be: grilled chicken with steamed vegetables and brown rice.
Friday: BBQ'd steak with spinach salad
Saturday - tacos with mexican salad and rice
Sunday - spaghetti with sauce (made from leftover taco meat) and a light caesar salad
Monday - BBQ'd lean ground beef burgers with a salad.
Tuesday - RUNNING DAY - peanut butter and jam sandwich
Wednesday - RUNNING DAY - peanut butter and jam sandwich

Now, here's to sticking with the plan!!

  I find cooking casseroles or preparing easy oven bake things like fish with a savory crust that I can store in the freezer is helpful. My evening meal has to be something that is quick to cook, or I end up snacking while I am cooking.

    Love it! I did a month of meal planning back in May or June, and found it really helped me with the whole month - even with grocery shopping, and especially with being more organized. Hope you find it helpful too!

August 6 - continuing to move forward

1 - to continue running 3 times a week
**INCLUDING a ten kilometre run on the Sunday after getting back from Halifax, eight hours after I landed in Calgary emoticon

2 - to lose my last five pregnancy pounds
**BAHAHAHAHA - weightloss & vacation, for me, are not to EVER be said in the same sentence. I *gained* 7 pounds in the first 10 days I was on vacation and had to scramble to fix things so, that when I got home, I was only 2.5 pounds up. GRRR.

3 - to blog my progress every Saturday
**Again, I'm late with this BUT I'm considering this a "bonus" blog since I added pics on Saturday.

4 - to drink eight 8 oz glasses of water a day

5 - to sleep 7 hours a night
**There was one night that I was having a serious nightmare and this didn't happen and another where I was a little bit hyped from getting home from Halifax and finding my house in a very big mess. So 5/7 here.

6 - to add two- days of strength training to my week
**Boot camp on Tuesday & Thursday, BodyPump on Friday. emoticon

7 - to add one day of yoga/stretching to my week.
**Not yet. My only stretching is post workout and isn't enough.

My goal that I'm adding for August is:

8 - to stay within calorie range AT LEAST 5 out of 7 days.
emoticon I did 6 before I broke the streak on Saturday.

Overall, a super-duper week!

Eight months later....

I decided to take some progress pictures today. Paul sees a "huge" difference and, I have to admit, I see one, too.

Alright, that's almost 8 full months of work. On to the next 8!!

    Hi! thanks for the comment on my blog. My post-birthing weight was 147.5. I've lost 15 pounds since having my daughter on the 26th of October. I lost 6 following the BLC19 challenges and doing my own thing of running 3x a week and, in the last few weeks, bootcamp 2x a week.
I've also been tracking EVERYTHING. Even when it means I have to admit to eating too much or exercising too little. I have my trackers visible if you ever want to "spy" and see if I'm eating/doing anything that sparks your interest.

Vacation Photos

If I thought picking "just a few" photos from the trip for uploading to FB was hard, narrowing it down to "just a few" for SP was, well, almost painful. Here you go:
July 16 - Nana and Roo meet for the very first time. Nana is *my* grandmother. Emily is her third great-grandchild.

Walking in Point Pleasant Park, Halifax, NS

July 17 - Crystal Crescent Beach in Sambro, NS. Paul and Logan actually went in this. Roo was NOT a fan of the ocean's temperature.

July 18 - We visited the Swiss Air memorial and Peggy's Cove

July 19 - We traveled the South Shore: Chester, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg and Bridgewater

If you look real close you can see the three churches on the bay. I'm sure this is THE most often photographed scene in Mahone Bay.

Lunenburg, home of the Bluenose II, and the town where I was born:

Bridgewater's Lahave River - My grandparents lived just up the hill from here for a long time when I was a child. I spent many summers visiting them and walking the bridge over this river.

July 20 - Tall Ship Day in Halifax

July 21 - Breakfast with TURBOMEL and TOBEARUNNER and then we're off to tour the Maritimes.

This one's self-explanatory:

My father, sister-in-law and baby brother. Yeh, when he stands up, he's over 6' tall. Not sure I can call him my "little" brother anymore.

Back home in Halifax. I surprised my grandmother by getting my cousins, neither of which we've seen since 1994, to visit.

And now I'm back in Calgary. Very mixed emotions about that BUT I'm happy to be home and back to "normal" life. Vacationing is exhausting!!

I had a nice trip to NS this summer too. Walked/ran past the Three Churches in Mahone Bay multiple times and spent some time in Bridgewater and Lunenburg too.

  Oh wow!! I'm so excited - I never see my hometown in anyone's pictures.. ever. I'm from Halifax, and so its definitely nice to see there are actually some Sparkers here who are from the Maritimes too! I feel like we should be friends :)

July weeks three and four - Progress?

The last two weeks were spent vacationing in the beautiful Maritime provinces of Canada. I have to say, my progress has been seriously affected. Here's the brutal truth -

My progress July 15 through 28:
1 - to continue running 3 times a week
**I ran twice during my vacation. Once on the 18th for the 20 minute challenge put on by the Running Room and then again, on the 22nd, from the Not Since Moses finish line back to my car. Total mileage in those two weeks = 4.71 kilometres. I did do some walking but not nearly enough
2 - to lose my last five pregnancy pounds
**The scale moved in the WRONG direction while I was gone. If anyone thought that my conversation with the scale in week two was entertaining... well, let's just say week four was not G-rated. Heck, it wasn't even PG-rated.... and then I went and blew up at PEHASS2 because, well you know, he's a man and he can take having a crazy woman screaming at him for no good reason. Thankfully, I think he's still okay with spending the rest of our lives together.
3 - to blog my progress every Saturday
**I'm late! I'm late! And I missed week 3.

** emoticonThey may have been broken but there were usually 7 or more of them. We didn't really adjust well to the time difference.

Now, today is a new day of a new week and, almost, a new month. I'm going to kick some serious butt in August. Gained pounds BEGONE!!

    I've been traveling every two weeks for the last 3 months and the one thing I've learned is that on the road you can only do the best you can do. I used to make all kinds of promises to myself too about working out but either the time wasn't there or the energy wasn't after 12 hour meetings. Don't beat yourself up. Just move into the new month with a renewed energy (which it sounds like you have in spades) and make August the best month you can!!

    HAHA!!! I think you look great in the vacation pics...but I know,I know.....we know better(that's what I'm dealing with now after gaining about 5 #s back . Old friends from last year thought I looked great and lost weight...little did they know. And IF I had stayed on track~~~the WOW factor would have been sweet.)
