My cousin posted this on Facebook and I just had to share:
Late one night a drunk guy is showing some friends around his brand new apartment. The last stop is the bedroom, where a big brass gong sits next to the bed.
"What's that gong for?" the friend asks him.
"It's not a gong," the drunk replies. "It's a talking clock."
"How does it work?"
The guys picks up a hammer, gives the gong an ear-shattering pound, and steps back.
Suddenly, someone on the otherside of the wall screams, "For God's sake, you idiot...it's 3:30 in the morning!"

First off, when I weighed in on Wednesday, I had lost 2.5 pounds. I give 100% credit to the BLC team I'm on for pushing me to be a better Sparkperson. I've been talkin' the talk for quite a while now but they've been helping me walk the walk. So
On to this week's challenge. It's called "Laughter". I won't get to use my pretty, purple dobber this time BUT it still looks like I'll be challenged to max my points, for sure. I'll have to focus to get my strength training. Cardio will be easy, I have a HM to run tomorrow and another 7 kms on Sunday. BodyPump on Monday will cover both ..... today is supposed to be a "rest" day but an hour of cardio and 60 reps of ST can still be done w/o over-doing it.
L is for "Laughter" and so I'll be trying to make my teammates smile once a day.
A is for "Add a rainbow" by eating freggies from four of the five colour groups. (Have you seen my salads? Easy peasy lemon squeazy!)
U is for "unwind with 15 minutes of "me" time" - this one is always tricky for me BUT I just watched the second episode of "Dallas" and drank a cup of coffee. I didn't even realize that I was earning 10 points LOL.
G is for "get real" - track everything and stay in range - again, easy peasy-ish. The HM ends at the Farmer's market. All kinds of things can go wrong there. They make pies and fudge there! Also, I bought a brunch ticket and I won't be able to track with 100% accuracy. Oh well, I burn over 1000 cals in a 21.1 km run. I can be 98% accurate and not worry too much.
H is for "high fives". Since I love encouraging people, especially my team, I expect max points here.
T is for "tone it up". Twenty reps for the upper, lower and core. This is where I may falter but, hey it's only 20 each, I can do this!!
E is for "exercise". No problemo!
R is for "reflect". TA DA!!! Oh, every day? Sorry folks, you'll just have to read my thoughts.... spppooooky..
Well, time for a shower, a snack and some errands. Roo's passed out. It must be damn tough getting me up every two hours, KEEPING me up since 5:30 and then, when there's no chance of me ever falling back to sleep, taking two sips of a boobie @ 10:00 before falling asleep. I love my baby, I love my baby, I love my baby......

Today was pretty much a combination of the last two. I tried a recipe for "Cheesy vegetable-stuffed eggplant" that confirmed that, for me, eggplant is kind of like Brussels sprouts, I like the first few bites but then - not so much. Here's the recipe if you're interested: recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detai
l.asp?recipe=1074662 and a picture of how it turned out:
Oh! Here's something that's kind of cool. One of my runners drives a really nice car that, much to my surprise, he agreed to take me for a ride in. Of course, I *had* to have photos taken just for proof. Logan's never going to believe it otherwise.
Let me tell you, 220 kms/hr feels pretty slick in a Lamborghini, in 4th gear. LOL. He says it goes 325. Lucky for the person who has to do laundry next, I didn't get to see that. It was still very nice.

Jenn (Blackrose_222) and I are keeping things going with the Vlog for the 5 Star BINGO challenge

Yesterday, I focused on the "pamper yourself" parts of the challenge so today I thought I'd share a few pics of my walk to Wal-Mart. I needed to make my 45 minutes (fell short, walked too fast) and I needed to pick up a few things for dinner so I thought I'd kill two birds. Roo and I set out around 3:00. It's mostly downhill and/or flat all the way there so I was making pretty good time. Less than 10 minutes in, she fell asleep. Which means I had no one to talk to. Which means I was now pretty bored. I'm SO not a good walker. Anyway, I made the 4-ish kms in about 33 minutes. Yay for downhill!! I'll definitely do that walk again although, for the height challenged (not afraid, just nervous), it's a little bit iffy. First I had to take a pedestrian overpass over one of our main roads and then I had to walk over Highway 2 (Deerfoot if you're from Calgary) on another stretch. FYI, the width of a sidewalk on an overpass is laughable. I rubbed the meridian TWICE with the jogging stroller. Here's a couple of views along the way:
I fully intended to walk back home, too but when I came out it was raining so I called Paul to rescue us. Next time, for sure.
Tonight's dinner was salmon, stir-fried kale & carrots with brown rice. I got the recipe on Spark and, for my BINGO, used it to score 3 squares. Here's the recipe, if you're feeling adventurous: recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detai
Well, I'm off to do some yoga. I might also try this: youtu.be/2U9bVmVL7FY
