Millarville Run to the Farmers' Market

Sunday, June 17, 2012

My run today was an awesome one. My running buddy walked a little more than planned as she was dealing with a groin injury BUT we still finished in 2:28. My "A" goal was to finish but I really, really wanted to finish in less than 2:30 - AND I DID IT.

I'm so very tired tonight. I'm up too late because my neighbour is a moron and, apparently, hard of hearing because his music is very, very loud right now and it's after 11 o'clock. By-laws say he should have had it turned down long ago.

Laughter - Day 1 - reflection

Friday, June 15, 2012

I did everything on the list today except the cardio exercise and stay in calorie range. I went 256 over which, with all the BF I've been doing lately, isn't that bad but Spark still doesn't count my nursing. SO! 110 points for me today. I can accept that. The worrier in me kept thinking that I'd go for a run or a bike ride or something and hurt myself. I have a race tomorrow! I can't let that happen. emoticon
Better day tomorrow for certain!

An "L" for Friday

Friday, June 15, 2012

My cousin posted this on Facebook and I just had to share:

Late one night a drunk guy is showing some friends around his brand new apartment. The last stop is the bedroom, where a big brass gong sits next to the bed.
"What's that gong for?" the friend asks him.
"It's not a gong," the drunk replies. "It's a talking clock."
"How does it work?"
The guys picks up a hammer, gives the gong an ear-shattering pound, and steps back.
Suddenly, someone on the otherside of the wall screams, "For God's sake, you idiot...it's 3:30 in the morning!"

LAUGHTER

Friday, June 15, 2012

First off, when I weighed in on Wednesday, I had lost 2.5 pounds. I give 100% credit to the BLC team I'm on for pushing me to be a better Sparkperson. I've been talkin' the talk for quite a while now but they've been helping me walk the walk. So emoticon

On to this week's challenge. It's called "Laughter". I won't get to use my pretty, purple dobber this time BUT it still looks like I'll be challenged to max my points, for sure. I'll have to focus to get my strength training. Cardio will be easy, I have a HM to run tomorrow and another 7 kms on Sunday. BodyPump on Monday will cover both ..... today is supposed to be a "rest" day but an hour of cardio and 60 reps of ST can still be done w/o over-doing it.
L is for "Laughter" and so I'll be trying to make my teammates smile once a day.
A is for "Add a rainbow" by eating freggies from four of the five colour groups. (Have you seen my salads? Easy peasy lemon squeazy!)
U is for "unwind with 15 minutes of "me" time" - this one is always tricky for me BUT I just watched the second episode of "Dallas" and drank a cup of coffee. I didn't even realize that I was earning 10 points LOL.
G is for "get real" - track everything and stay in range - again, easy peasy-ish. The HM ends at the Farmer's market. All kinds of things can go wrong there. They make pies and fudge there! Also, I bought a brunch ticket and I won't be able to track with 100% accuracy. Oh well, I burn over 1000 cals in a 21.1 km run. I can be 98% accurate and not worry too much. emoticon
H is for "high fives". Since I love encouraging people, especially my team, I expect max points here.
T is for "tone it up". Twenty reps for the upper, lower and core. This is where I may falter but, hey it's only 20 each, I can do this!!
E is for "exercise". No problemo!
R is for "reflect". TA DA!!! Oh, every day? Sorry folks, you'll just have to read my thoughts.... spppooooky..

Well, time for a shower, a snack and some errands. Roo's passed out. It must be damn tough getting me up every two hours, KEEPING me up since 5:30 and then, when there's no chance of me ever falling back to sleep, taking two sips of a boobie @ 10:00 before falling asleep. I love my baby, I love my baby, I love my baby......

    Thanks!
I cannot take credit for the creativity tho'. It all goes to the Admin team for the BLC19. I'm really staying focused, thanks to them.

Have a super time at the Millerville HM, you lucky duck. Looks like the weather will give you a break too. Really like how you broke down the word Laughter very creative.

By the way my HM clinic started last night, Holly is instructing it.

5 star bingo - day three

Monday, June 11, 2012

Today was pretty much a combination of the last two. I tried a recipe for "Cheesy vegetable-stuffed eggplant" that confirmed that, for me, eggplant is kind of like Brussels sprouts, I like the first few bites but then - not so much. Here's the recipe if you're interested: recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detai
l.asp?recipe=1074662
and a picture of how it turned out:

Oh! Here's something that's kind of cool. One of my runners drives a really nice car that, much to my surprise, he agreed to take me for a ride in. Of course, I *had* to have photos taken just for proof. Logan's never going to believe it otherwise. emoticon

Let me tell you, 220 kms/hr feels pretty slick in a Lamborghini, in 4th gear. LOL. He says it goes 325. Lucky for the person who has to do laundry next, I didn't get to see that. It was still very nice.

I love eggplant and will be trying that recipe soon, sounds yummy. The Lamborghini PT Muria was my dream car back when I was a teen,
