New books and new motivation

Wednesday, October 24, 2012

I ordered some new Tosca Reno books from Amazon that arrived in the mail yesterday. I've been reading, Your Best Body Now and Just the Rules. I have nearly all of Tosca's books...or maybe I do have all of them now...anyway, her books are definitely motivating and inspiring. So this morning I'm ready to set goals and take small steps to achieve them.

Goals for the day ~
No sugar
Water with every meal/snack
Walk a total of 60 minutes
Plan for tomorrow
Get 8 hours of sleep

~off to cook chicken for my cooler lunch~

Happy day, everyone.

July 27, 2012 ~ Not perfect...but OK!

Friday, July 27, 2012

I've been on track, mostly...OK - I've had several less than stellar days...but I'm OK. I've gotten rid of 5 pounds in the last 3 weeks and will continue to refine my "practice" of fat loss and muscle building. Who knows if I'll ever get it right! I've been practicing for 33 years! (I'm 54, but only started paying attention to health when I got married.)

I'll never be perfect, and I try not to get caught up in pursuing perfection...although there are times when I'm disappointed that I can't achieve it! Silly me.

I've been eating clean and lifting weights along with spinning and outdoor cycling.

We leave for our beach vacation on Tuesday and I will continue to focus on the goal. It may take a while to reach it, but I have time....and if I don't have time, it won't matter.

Check in later ~

    persistence, not perfection...

perfection is what makes us think "all or nothing" and if we slip, might as well forget it...WRONG...pick ourselves up automatically and start "fresh" the very next meal, the very next day ... unless you are punishing yourself with your lifestyle, you know it is what is best for you and makes you proud of yourself...

go, go, go emoticon emoticon emoticon

emoticon just remember no one is prefect!! What's the fun in that. Enjoy your beach vacation and continue to focus on what you need to do. You will reach your goal, together we all can do this. Setting small goals seems to get us through the large goal in the end. emoticon emoticon Judy

Day 11 ~ Doing OK

Thursday, July 05, 2012

I returned from my bike ride yesterday...hungry...chips and ceviche on the table...OK, I'll just have a few...is that even POSSIBLE??? I had a few...and a few more...and a few more...oh, there was some avocado, too.

It could have been worse...much worse...so I'll move on from here. I DID have the "points" to spend, and I'll be fine today. I will keep moving forward.

I plan to fit in some sort of cardio this morning, and I'll be teaching a yoga class at noon. Tonight, my niece, great-niece, and I are going to a concert on the Santa Monica Pier. So, I'll be getting in lots of activity today, without much time for eating.

Good stuff emoticon emoticon emoticon

Have a nice day!

Day 10 ~ Down Another Pound

Wednesday, July 04, 2012

This morning, I weighed myself and was down another pound since last night's weigh in.

I'm contemplating a short ride today...around 11 miles...just to loosen up a bit. I also plan to do some yoga, crunches, squats, and upper body weights.

Just having coffee and breakfast now. No big plans for the 4th ~ low-key with some exercise and healthful food.

Have a happy day, everyone.
Patti

It's funny about biking. When I first started riding, I thought 5 miles was a LONG ride. Now I too consider 11 miles a short ride!

emoticon congrats on the pounds lost!

Day 9 ~ Biking and Weigh In Today!

Tuesday, July 03, 2012

Today, I will head out for a 20 mile ride...maybe more! This evening, I'll weigh in at WW. We'll see how that goes.

I'll update my blog after I weigh in...even if no one else reads it, it will be documentation for me.

Have a great day ~
