T-40 - House Hunting!

Only 40 more days here in Germany! Time to find a house!! (For rent, we are not looking to buy).

At first I thought we might not really be able to secure housing before we arrive in the US, because places that are available to rent, they will not hold for more than a couple of weeks. But I think I found a GREAT house over the weekend!! It is a good size for us, reasonable rent, single-family home with a private back yard. It won't be available until a couple of weeks before we arrive, so the timing is even perfect!

We are applying for the rental, so they can do a background and credit check now. I am really nervous. I haven't rented in sooooo long!! I keep thinking they might find something about us "high risk," even if our credit is good, and backgrounds are clean.... I guess we will see in about a week! If everything goes through, we will sign the lease, and have a definite place to live upon arrival!!!

This is also important, because we have to supply a deliver address to the container company in a couple of weeks. If we can't find a place to live before hand, we will have to have it delivered to a storage unit, which I really don't want.

I'll be soooooooo excited when I have a definite address for our new home!! WOOOOHOOOO!!!

My 10 in 10 Challenge:
I'm still doing GREAT!! I'm down at least 6 lbs (need to do an official weigh-in) in just 4 weeks!! I only need to lose a few more to meet my goal before I leave Germany. My clothes are fitting so much better, I feel so much better physically (because of all the healthy eating), and I am doing great reaching each one of my goals. By April 15th, I hope to get under 127, and I think that is definitely doable. I am also well on my way to finishing 75 miles of running before April 15th. I've already run 62 miles in the month of April!!

Everything is moving right along. Our excitement is growing day by day. It's also scary at the same time - there is no way to resolve certain issues and things until we are there, and financially, we are very strapped. But we are trusting it will all work out!

Can't wait to meet some of my fellow Sparkers in July at the Make It By Midnight marathon!!!!

    I like the sound of the place you found. Wouldn't it be so great if you could have more of those nicest Germany days.... sunny play time and bbq in the backyard... good weather and yummy homemade healthy food...... ahh.... I'll hope for the best!

T-45 - Progress Pics!!

It's now 3 and a half weeks into my 10 in 10 Challenge!! I'm down more than 6 lbs, so I am way ahead of schedule, which is so encouraging! Thought I would upload some progress pics.

Before (Taken in November, weighed about the same as I did when I started my challenge in March):


Now (Sorry it's a little blurry, but SAME PANTS!):


My belly fat and hips/love-handles have reduced CONSIDERABLY!! These pants are still a little snug, but I am sure a couple more weeks, & I will be ROCKIN' them comfortably!! WOOOHOOOO!!!

I am now signed up for the Disney Goofy Challenge 2013!! DH thought it would be totally awesome for me to do that, in spite the STEEP price. I got the total go-ahead, and signed up! (Thanks to my Disney Rewards Visa!) Running a half marathon and then a marathon next day! Crazy business, but it's gonna be a BLAST! And I am sure, there are many other Sparkers gonna be there, which is gonna make it even more awesome for me.

Only 5 more weeks until that moving container is gonna be parked in front of our house! Today we had a CRAZY packing session, DH and I. We packed our entire living room and most of our office. It was AWESOME! Our attic is now completely packed as well, which was probably where MOST of our junk was to begin with!! There really isn't much more we can pack for a couple more weeks, so time better hurry up and FLY BY!!

We know now that we are headed for the Fort Walton Beach / Destin area in Florida (posted in my status yesterday), and we are just STOKED! Every day, details are falling more and more into place. I cannot wait to be there, connecting with any of you other Sparkers that live in the surrounding areas. My running life is gonna become SO AWESOME!!

    I signed up for the marathon!!! It will be my first, unless I sign up for another one before then. Guess I better get through my HM in three weeks and see if it kills me!!

T-49 - APRIL IS HERE!!

So, our moving progress is coming along! We signed the papers of our house sale on Friday, so the house is SOLD! But we still officially own the house until May 15th, and will be moving out on May 14th. I had the feeling it was a huge step forward with our move, and was so excited and nervous on Friday!

Now the packing is ON!! We almost have our attic completely packed and sorted. We still have a ways to go overall, but we are getting there. We only have 6 weeks left to get all this stuff boxed up!

I have been ON A ROLL!! Starting out just a little over 3 wees ago @ 134 lbs, my goal has been to lose 10 lbs in the 10 weeks I have left here in Germany. I already made it to 128.8 lbs in March, so I surpassed my goal and expectations!

Now that I'm back into my groove, I'm shooting to make April EVEN BETTER!! I like to keep my goals more short-range, so I am shooting for some certain things by April 15th:

emoticon Run 75 miles (shooting for 150 in April)
emoticon Keep filling up my plates with lots of veggies, and track that food.
emoticon Reach sub-127 lbs. (current weight 128.8 lbs)
emoticon Drink more water.
emoticon Stay away from the sugar and alcohol.

So, Let's ROCK APRIL!! WOOT WOOT!

T-53 - My 10 in 10 Challenge update!

I'm KILLING it!!! So, a few weeks ago, I decided, with 10 weeks left before our scheduled arrival in the States (HOME FOR GOOD!!), I would get these last 10 lbs off FOR GOOD. 10 in 10 weeks.

3 weeks ago, I weighed in at 134 flat. Together with the help of a few accountability-SparkFriends, I have pulled off 3 weeks of the most CONSISTENT HEALTHY eating I have seen from myself in.... I can't even REMEMBER when!! I feel AWESOME, my running has improved, I am not craving sweets/sugar anymore... And the scale??? It's MOVING!!

Weigh-in today? 128.8 lbs!!! My goal was to make it UNDER 130 before March 31st. Last week, I had already hit 129.8, so I was pretty confident it would happen, but TOM hit this week, really making me doubt. NO PROBLEM though! I totalyl hit it.

5.2 lbs lost in 3 weeks. Suh- WEEET!!!!! I am way ahead of my schedule of 10 in 10. And I thought this was gonna be HARD! It's amazing how eating HEALTHY, and fueling your body properly (rather than focusing on what you are being deprived of) makes losing the weight SOOOOOO EASY!!!

My workouts have been right on target, running 5 days a week, S/T 2 days a week. Gonna keep that up for my Half Marathon coming up on May 1st (a holiday here in Germany), and the Make It By Midnight marathon in Georgia in July..... WOOT WOOT!!!

We are going through a huge house cleansing, sorting through all our junk, throwing lots of stuff out, and figuring out what we really want to pack in that container. It feels great to be getting through all that stuff, and getting more organized. Our container is scheduled to be parked at our place in just about 6 weeks, so we really have to get MOVING on this! It is exciting, and with each passing day, I looking forward to my Stateside arrival even more.

    Wow, congrats on your weight loss! Thanks for the reminder about how eating healthy improves your running and makes you feel really great. I've been eating bad the last 2 weeks and I'm ready to get on track. My runs have been horrible since I've been eating unhealthy. I'm doing my first full marathon in June and I want to lose 20 lbs by then. I want to do as much as I can to be prepared for the marathon and I know it will be less stressful on my body if I trim the fat. Keep up the great work! emoticon
