Day 1 No More Excuses...Blog 2 of the Day

Wednesday, June 02, 2010

My morning started out well but this afternoon kind of went downhill. Big argument w/DH. Then later on did my workout-the highlight of the day. Then got an email that upset me a bit. I'm kind of down but I will not allow this to affect the progress I want to make on my journey. This WILL NOT be an excuse for me to fail!

RECAP FOR TODAY:
1)Talking with God-not done emoticon
2)64 oz or more a day of water emoticon
3)Exercise daily & track it. emoticon I did 55minutes of cardio and I'm up to over 7,000 steps. I would like to reach 10k before bed.
4)Track My Food Daily-to begin with I may just list my foods in notes w/o going into specific portion sizes. emoticon

I'm so proud of myself for taking these emoticon I did Leslie Sansone's Walk Your Belly Flat 3 Mile Walk. Em was cheering me on saying "Go Mommy, GO! Go Mommy GO!" That really helped as there were a few times I wanted to quit! I didn't though. I did about 2 minutes of the ab work and then started feeling nauseous and had to stop. This was a emoticon emoticon for me. I want to continue to push myself. I hope to get some walking in place done tomorrow & Friday while I'm at work.

I am moving in the direction of my greatest dreams and defeat is NOT an option! I believe in myself and that's a wonderful feeling!

Why is talking to God such a hard goal to meet? That is one of my daily goals and I fail at it a lot. It only takes a few minutes out of our time, yet we don't get it done. We need to really work on this one. I am so proud of your exercise efforts today. You definitely showed em who's boss!

Absolutely No More Excuses...Day 1 My List

Wednesday, June 02, 2010

I said in yesterday's blog that I wanted to come up with a list of what I want to do and how I'm going to accomplish it. I got this from one of my Sparkfriend's blogs:
www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_jo
urnal_individual.asp?blog_id=3286171#c
omments

So in reading this, I have come up with my own list of what I want & how I will get there.

WHAT I WANT:

**I want to live up to my username. At the beginning of the year I decided I needed a new name that reflected my inner spirit. I WANT TO RUN! emoticon
**I want to hike and be one with nature (now this would be in almost any season but summer as I'm not a big fan of humidity). emoticon
**I want to go white water rafting and/or kayaking.
**I want to make my daughter proud of me.
**I want to go to the beach and feel comfortable in my own skin emoticon
**I want to look HOT in a swimsuit. I'm ok with this being a one piece. I never wore a bikini in the past except at the age of 2 emoticon
**I want to feel sexy in a little emoticon
**I want to sit in a chair, car, airplane or whatever and not have to worry about squeezing in or if I will fit.

HOW I WILL GET THERE:

1)Talking with God.
2)64 oz or more a day of water.
3)Exercise daily & track it.
4)Track My Food Daily-to begin with I may just list my foods in notes w/o going into specific portion sizes. Tracking/journaling has always been tough for me to do on a constant basis. So I will start with a baby step emoticon and go from there. Progress NOT perfection Something is better than nothing!

I am not making this a monthly goal. This is something I want to strive for daily. I will tweak this more as my body changes. I am not putting a specific time frame. I am taking one day at a time. The point for me is, I need to make changes from what I've done in the past. So going forward, this is what I will do daily. I'm ready to take the bull by the horns. My ticker was updated on 5/31/10. It's a new day and I intend to make the most of each & every one! I am tired of the regrets. So no more excuses & no more regrets!

For those of you who responded "I'm in" or "sign me up" to yesterday's blog, did you come up with your list? Did you come up with a list of what you want & how you're going to get there? This can be something that you blog about here or just write down on a piece of paper. I prefer to do it on here because 1)it makes me more accountable and 2)it's easier for me to type and correct as opposed to scratching out things emoticon Whatever your choice was, I hope you will keep me posted!

For those who are already on track and offered suggestions, support and/or encouragement, I APPRECIATE IT AND YOU!

Alright, for me, it's time for ABSOLUTELY NO MORE EXCUSES. It's time to get with it and DO THIS! WE CAN DO THIS....WE WILL DO THIS....AS LONG AS WE STICK TOGETHER!

emoticon

Absolutely No More Excuses!!!!! Who's With Me??

Tuesday, June 01, 2010

One of the teams I am on is called 50 Pound Challenge. The challenge is to lose 50 pounds in 6 months. It started back on January 1st and runs until June 30. I have to say that I'm currently up 1.6 from when I started...BACK IN JANUARY! Today is the 1st of June. I am sick and tired of myself and my lack of staying power. I'm amazed & proud of all those on my team who've done wonderfully and steadily losing-even if they may have hit a few rough patches.

Today I read a blog of someone who's facing some major changes in her life. She has decided that she is not making any more excuses. She laid out a plan and has basically said "enough is enough".

Her words truly sparked something in me! Enough IS enough. I have NOT taken the last 6 months seriously enough. Something was pointed out to me yesterday that struck a chord. I start things and then stop before giving them a chance to continue. I realize that sums me up in a nutshell. I'm tired of this half-a$$ed ness! I need to get rid of this habit of starting and not finishing things. No more excuses! Anyone else fed up with their current attitude towards their journey? Anyone else ready to accept NO EXCUSES?!?! If so, join me and let's DO this! Let's make a list of what we want to do and how we're going to accomplish it! I will work on my list today and post a blog either tonight or tomorrow morning!

LET'S GET SERIOUS!

I think you have a lot of great ideas, but I think you tire of them easily and move onto the next great idea. My advice is to simplify. Just plan exercise and food and if you can be on track 80% of the time, you will be much slimmer come next January.

The End Of May With June Knocking At The Door...

Monday, May 31, 2010

This has been a month of growing for me. A month of gratitude and learning. I've learned the importance of family and friends. I've learned that blogging at the end of the month about what I will accomplish the following month doesn't seem to be working. I need to take this day by day or maybe even weekly. My hope is that having daily goals will not allow my dreams and long term goals to die off and be forgotten.

Yesterday, I said I was shooting for 50 jumping jacks which I did! I did not drink all the water I intended but I didn't feel like I was thirsty either. I kept my water nearby.

Today, I have already done my 50 jumping jacks ( I break them up-I did 30 and then a bit later I did 20). I would like to get another 10 in before the end of the day-I really would like to get in another 25.

What I would like to do is start using my jump rope. I know that would go a long way too! I need to find it.

Tomorrow I plan to print out the guest pass to the gym I mentioned yesterday. I plan to go to the gym for a tour on Wednesday when I'm off. Hopefully, all will go well and I will become a member by the end of the week. That idea REALLY excites me-actually that and the idea that I will be having ME time. Someone commented on my blog that I was making it positive by referring to it as ME time instead of dreaded time at the gym. I actually am really looking forward to it. I will take the new iPod Nano and listen to my music or audiobook(s) and get in some great work outs. I really like the idea of doing the swimming thing too!

I am going into this month feeling positive and upbeat. I am hoping that my exercise routine will give me the challenge I need and that I will push myself harder than I have been recently. Then end of the month will bring a new season-summer. It's filled with humidity in our area but I'm not going to allow it to get me off track. I have not had the best of luck on the scale however, I do know that I have grown mentally & emotionally over the last few months. I know that I can do this. I have the strength and the know how. I just need to apply them to my life! I will never give up no matter how long it takes, I am this to win it! So let's make this week a great week that will lead to an overall great month!

Baby steps...That is what will get me to my ultimate goal...

Baby Steps is the way to go. You really have to stick with one thing long enought to see if it works. I may not reply all the time but I do read your blogs because they are always so uplifting.

You seem to constantly change your food plan or exercise rather than stick with something long enough to get results. Maybe the reason you are not losing weight like you want to is because your body doesn't know what it is getting next so it is storing up all of your calories.

TRAVELNISTA 5/31/2010 3:26PM

Great attitude about Me time. I hope they have either a sauna or a jacuzzi that you can go in before going home to relax you. I know if I exercise at night I can not go to sleep because i am wired. You are planning on going to the gym after Emma goes to sleep. That is kind of late.

I hope they give you a few free passes so you can see how night time exercising reacts with your body and sleeping pattern. It is really something you need to take into consideration especially since you get up early in the morning to commute to work.

I am not trying to talk you out of it but am saying that will be a factor. If I relax in the jacuzzi after a night time pool class, then I can fall asleep at a normal time. If I skip it or the sauna I am up all night.

Rejoining The Gym...Blog 2 for today

Sunday, May 30, 2010

Thank you for the responses on my previous blog from this morning. I loved the feedback I got! I'm definitely stuck on exercise for blogging topics today. Hopefully this is a positive sign of what's to come!

Ok, so I as I've said before, I don't belong to a gym. I've been there & done that. I belonged to a gym in the past that I really liked.

So today, I was talking w/one of my Sparkfriends, RUNA5K2010, as she was going to a cycling class. We also live in the same city so we chatted a bit and she got me thinking about rejoining the gym I had been a member of 3-4 times in the past. My favorite thing about this gym is that they have an indoor pool w/water aerobics (DAWNWATERWOMAN I know I've got your attention:). So I did some research through my health insurance. I am eligible for discounts at this gym. I'm seriously considering cancelling WW, as I'm truly not benefiting from it right now, and go with a gym membership instead.

I Sparkmailed my other good friend DALMOMOF3 as she has kids and attends the gym. I wanted some feedback from her standpoint. It really helped. She pointed out, very wisely, that I didn't need to go to the gym with someone else. This could be my ME time. She had me at ME TIME! I could definitely go after Em is in bed. I also like the idea of taking water aerobics classes on Wednesday evenings-my day off. They even offer Pool Zumba on that night. The only thing I would need is a swimsuit.

So I talked with my boss and she mentioned trying to get a guest pass to see how it would work with my life style. If I decide to sign up, it would be for 96 weeks.

I still want to mix up what I have at home. But I like the idea of some ME time and this would be right up my alley I think as it would get me away from home to do it.

The gym can be a great place to get your ME time in, I go to my school gym (im trying to take advantage of the fact that its free) at 7 am when hardly anyone is there and plug in my ipod and get in the zone, you can get a lot of thinking done just running on the treadmill or doing the elliptical.

And its really good that you look at the gym in a positive light as "ME" time, and not dreading going to the gym like a lot of people do.

Good luck and have fun!

I am looking forward to joining a gym again in November. I used to love to go. I'm single and a Senior so get lots of me time.

Sounds like a great idea to get the guest pass and check it out. You've got my attention with the Pool Zumba class. TRAVELNISTA goes to a class like that and loves it! I'm jealous! I hope that it all works out for you honeybunny! Love, Dawn

I think this sounds awesome! I totally agree with the "me" time thing. That would be your chunk of time every day to focus on doing good for you!

GO FOR IT!!!!
