My son

Saturday, August 06, 2011

I had our son at 24 weeks and 5 days on 7/17. He was born 1 pd and 9 oz. He is currently staying at Cardinal Glennon and they estimate that I will be able to bring him home in November. So before then I need to lose some weight so I can keep up with him!

Calorie Deficit

Sunday, April 26, 2009

So I am now going to start posting my BMR, calories, and exercises here so I can be accountable for a calorie deficit. Feel free to give feedback or kick my butt when needed! I would like to shoot for a goal of 7000 a week but for now I would like to shoot for 3500 a week. That is a 1 pd loss.

Walk/bike across Missouri

Sunday, April 26, 2009

I am going to trek across the great state of Missouri. I would like to thank one of my teammates, Holly, for this idea. I am doing this for motivation. I figure if I know if the next town is only so many more miles than I will push myself further. I will post what cities I am in, pictures, and maps. I will be starting out at 16th and Jefferson in Kansas City MO. My next stop will be Independence MO, 10.15 miles away.

Diabetic Husband

Monday, March 30, 2009

My hubby was just diagnosed on 3/27/09. This is going to be quite a life style change for him. I am trying to support him all the way. I give him his meds, I check his blood sugar, I make his meals, and I am his cheerleader. I am trying to be supportive to him and make sure I take care of myself as well. He is being difficult. I know this is hard on him but he is just being a child. Maybe it is my fault. Maybe I am babying him too much. Maybe he needs to take more responsibility. If anyone has any suggestions (including food) I am in need. Since friday his blood sugar has ranged from 231 to 305. Nothing lower!

03/31/09 - Today his blood sugar is finally down to 174!

Gina, I'm sorry that I don't have meal advice. If I find anything or hear anything I will share it with you. I know that any life change that is out of our hands is very hard. I know things will work out and you'll both find a balance with his diabetes and living. It will just take some time and knowledge searching. Vent when you need to, we're all here for you.

PS... I think men need us to baby them. It's what we do best. emoticon

Time to get back on the horse!

Saturday, January 17, 2009

I have been sick constantly since November. I am sick of being sick! Since I have been, I haven't been doing well on eating or exercising. My doctor put me on new antibotics and I am determined that this is going to work. It is time for me to get back on the Spark horse. I vow as of today to do just that.
