I Feel So Blessed

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

A friend of mine on one of my spark teams posted a blog called 'Add to the Bucket List'. So I started with...

I've had a wonderful life and been able to do almost everything I could want. Right now the only thing I can think of is to get and stay at my goal weight by my birthday on March 9, not sure if I can do it, but I'm going keep at it. I've been able to travel to wonderful areas around the world and here in the states. I have the best friends and family, a good marriage. I have very good relationships with people, I enjoy life and am able to live in the moment (well, most of the time). I'm not sure if it's good or bad that I can't really add to the 'bucket list'. I've told people close to me that if I die tomorrow don't be sad because I've had a great life (a little morbid according to my son). I prefer to feel that I am blessed!!

It is refreshing to know somebody who is happy and content with what life has dealt her. You are grateful for all you have and are enjoying life to its fullest. I am so happy to have the chance to meet you soon. You are a true inspiration to others.

I'm not thinking this is morbid at all. I'm thinking it's the wisdom of a woman who knows what IS and who's in touch with all of it.

Some Good Advice

Saturday, October 24, 2009

I found this a long time ago, wrote it in my planner and don't even remember who wrote it. I try to read it regularly just as a reminder to myself. I thought others might get something from it also.

'So hears the good news: Instead of thinking, I've failed over and over again, why bother trying again?, take your relapse in stride and stay positive no matter how many attempts it takes you. Each new effort brings you closer to the one that might really work. The key is to stick with it until you achieve your weight and health goals - that's the true definite of a success story.'
