Fitness Challenge 2013

Sunday, January 13, 2013

My husband's cousin started a fitness challenge group of friends and relatives. We all started this plan on Jan 7. We are drinking 1/2 our weight in oz of water. We are logging 6 servings of fruits and veggies. We are logging our exercise in 15 min increments. We get points for sleeping at least 7 hrs per night. Lastly, we get 2 points for self improvement/wellbeing.

For part of my exercise I have started walking at the mall or our events center. If it is warm enough out, I walk our dog down to our cul du sac and back which is .7 miles and usually takes 15-20 min as it is a hilly road. I brought my Brita water pitcher in to work with me and a 16 oz covered glass with a straw so I can get my water in take done during the day. I quit drinking soda pop! I have done pretty good with adding more veggies and fruits. It does take planning. The sleep part is unpredictable. Sometimes I wake up an hour before I need to be awake and then can't fall back to sleep.

Over all, I feel a sense of healthiness in documenting my food again and my water and exercise. :_)

Motorcycle Vacation to Black Hills

Friday, July 04, 2008

We returned from our trip to Custer, SD last Saturday night at 11 pm in the rain. We had to watch for deer along the road too. Our trip was refeshing. We rode through the Wild Life Loop several times and saw buffalo, donkeys, wild turkeys, prairie dogs, deer, and prong horns. One morning we even saw two elk! We rode out to Devil's Tower, WY and down through Spearfish Canyon. It was all very beautiful. It did rain at night though and one night it hailed twice in 1 hour. Dave and I took a ride on the 1880s train from Hill City to Keystone. When we returned home I weighed myself and saw that I had pretty much maintained my weight within 1-2 lbs of when I left.
