Signed up for a Marathon 4 person relay today!

Can't believe I signed up for the Delaware Marathon May, 2012! I put a team of 4 together. This will be my platform to then run a Disney 1/2 marathon on my own next Fall.

My husband, son and friend are running on my team. This will be a light at the end of the tunnel between my husband's upcoming surgery and my foot surgery in November.

I just read my blog title again -- I am nuts!

    Hi R.M. Thank you so much for your comments on my blog regarding my BF. You are right and I agree with you that that is usually the best way to handle it... let him think on it. He's just such a creature of habit and needs to be in control of his environment. Congrats on signing up for your 26.2/4 way! That's about a 10k for each of you! You can do it! Ran my third 5k this morning, ended up going by myself and it was great...well, I am not going to lie to you, it was hot and humid -- but, I did it! It wasn't my best time - 30.28, but I did finish and I did place 2nd in my age group!

And now I am planning on signing up for the next one Thursday night. My goal is to come in under 29.47 (my fastest time to date).

Running 5ks again...Yesssssssssss!

I cannot explain how good it felt to run a 5k this morning. My feet are feeling great tonight and I just finished surfing the web for 5k races for the next 3 weeks. Knowing that I have them set up keeps me motivated, but more importantly appreciating that I can run again with no pain is simply AWESOME!

My husband started running again too! I am so excited. As I mentioned before, he has been diagnosed with cancer and will have surgery in one month. The doctor told him one month ago to make sure he is doing 30 mins of cardio per day. He is not overweight, but cardio will help him recover faster. I didn't nag him about it too much...but since I am doing it I did bring it up a couple times. If I was not, I would have felt I didn't have a right too.

So now he is going to run 5k races with me! I need to be motivated to lose some weight (2 sizes), he needs it so he can recover from his surgery faster. We are on our way...yayyy!

    Oh gosh hon.. I hope surgery goes well. But am even happier to see DH decided on his own to run with you. BUT take some credit. You quietly showed him what to do by example and it worked! Good for you.

Well, my feet are holding out! I have been running at 30/35 minutes per day at a regular pace (about 2.6 miles prox). Tomorrow I am going to go up to a 5k. I am really itching to run a race, so I have solicited 4 people to join me on Saturday. It will probably not be my best time of the season, but will keep me motivated to continue running.

I did get a mold taken of my feet yesteday for orthotics. I am really excited that they will help with me running farther distances. I really want to build up to a 10 mile race then half marathon. I added the Disney 1/2 marathons to my facebook and it is getting me excited! That would be such an awesome accomplished goal next Spring!

My food intake is also going pretty well. I am eating healthy during the day, only problem is hanging out with friends every night - still consuming too much alcohol! With all of our kids grown up and gone, seems to be the norm - Yikes!
