Today I ran 4 miles...I was supposed to run 5 miles, but my stupid iPhone rang and it was work, it was early so I stopped short to answer it. It ended up not being something I should have been called for, but I did thank God - My business is early childhood and I don't want any hurt or an emergency with the building. Anyway, I did get four miles in at 6 am so I won't complain.
My husband wanted to take me and rox to Annapolis, MD in the boat overnight so I got out of work and away we went. I encountered a running store and bought a running shirt that says "will run for wine". I like another one that said "I run like a girl and I am beating you" but they didn't have my size!
I am thinking about running a 10k Saturday. My brother (my running coach) told me to run one 30 days before. I am waiting for his opinion. I will be 21 days out - don't want to risk injury!
Instead of a quote tonight, I am going to leave you with the message on the headband I bought today to wear during the half marathon...
" unless you faint, puke or die, keep moving!"

Today I planned on getting up early to run 8.5 miles...I ended up not getting up so early.
So, I went out at 8:53. It was really humid, so I ended up running 2.5 miles. I came in, stretched, cooled off, and ate my breakfast. As I checked my facebook account, I noticed a post from a friend who had run 10 miles on her treadmill this morning while watching the olympics. Inspired, I decided to run a couple more miles on my treadmill and get up early tomorrow to run 8.5.
I hopped on my treadmill and watched the men's bike race as I ran another 2.7 miles. As I ran I thought about how I use to use my treadmill all the time and that I should be incorporating it more in my trainings. It definitely was a lot cooler - I have a/c, a ceiling fan and a floor fan aimed right at my treadmill! My treadmill has cushioney shock absorbers under the belt, making it a nice, smooth run. It is also convenient to have water and a towel at my disposal whenever I need it. I also found that watching the olympic competition kept my eyeballs away from the time and distance trackers on the dashboard - it didn't seem to drag.
In the end, I got 5 miles in this morning. I am glad that I decided to keep going.
Now I am off to the running store to buy a new pair of running shoes - yayyy!

The countdown is in the 30's now - holy crap! I am getting close.
I got 5 1/2 hours sleep last night. I couldn't stand the thought of running on a treadmill at lunch again, so I made myself get up and run the development at 6 AM before having to get into work.
I was a slowpoke the first mile and a half! Couldn't seem to get going. My music finally woke me up and I was on my way. I ran 4 miles. The weather was perfect for running and no one was out. I love mornings like that!
I ended getting out of work early (4 PM) so now I am just chilling on my couch with Roxy. I can't wait for the weekend!

Yikes! Only forty days left! Sort of scary when I thought about it after one of my Sparkbuds pointed it out - thanks Karen!!
So, today I ended up working from 7 AM through 10:30 PM. That left no time to run at home, so I went to "plan B" and signed up at a gym down the street from work and used their treadmill and shower during my one hour lunch break! I got 3.5 miles in. I have to say my treadmill at home has spoiled me on the days I have to run inside. The ifit module makes running on a treadmill such a different experience. I was so bored on the gym treadmill. I had my music going but there was nothing interesting to look at. They have tvs in front of the treadmills but I couldn't focus. 3.5 miles seemed to take forever! But, I did get my run in!
I took another 45 minute break later in the day and got my weekly adjustment from my chiropractor...I am determined not to get injured! I want to do hot yoga a couple times per week to stretch out, but not sure where that is going to fit in! I have two more weeks of very long work days - I might have to wait until the long work days are over.
Quote of the day:
I always loved running... it was something you could do by yourself, and under your own power.† You could go in any direction, fast or slow as you wanted, fighting the wind if you felt like it, seeking out new sights just on the strength of your feet and the courage of your lungs.† ~Jesse Owens
