Ate More, Taking the Night Off, and The Biggest Loser Finale...

Tuesday, December 13, 2011

Consumed 1205 cals today.

The last couple days I didn't eat very much. I was not that hungry. The scale didn't budge! So, today I made sure I ate more. I still wasn't that hungry but I want to make sure I am eating right - especially while my foot is still healing. I am also taking vitamins with extra vitamin D. I do need to start strength training again too. I want to do it before going to work, but this week I have to go in real early and I am getting home late :(

I was tired today too. I have been running around like a nut the past week - between parties, work, moving my son, and Christmas shopping. Tonight my husband asked if I wanted to go with him to my son's house (to do repair work). I opted out! I told him I needed to give my foot a break AND wanted to hang out with Roxy and my other son. My husband surprised me by bringing home a Christmas tree before he left. It smells so good! It is going to sit un-decorated until tomorrow night!

So here I sit with my favorite dog, surfing and waiting for the Biggest Loser Finale to start! This is the first season of watching that I actually stuck with my eating plan the entire time and lost weight as the contestants lost massive weight! I actually tear up when watching the Biggest Loser finales, the transformations are amazing and they work so hard. I always hope they all keep the weight off. It has to be hard when they lose it outside of their comfort zone quickly and then are plopped back home.

I hope you had a great day and are seeing results!!

I don't watch the show. When I see the trainers yelling at them while they are exercising, I wonder if any of the contestants have ever had heart problems during a workout.

I think when everyone has the same goal, that it is easier to lose weight. When they go back home, it is up to them to keep up the exercise and proper eating.

My Mom still tries to feed me when I visit her at the nursing home. She will offer her food to me and cut a sandwich or offer her dessert. I tell her I am a diabetic and can't eat it. This is about the only way I can get her to stop trying to share with me. I want her to eat what she is served, she needs to gain a little weight.

Looking forward to the Finale too, but it will have to wait til tomorrow. Sons band concert tonight. Kids have finals and getting ready to go on vaca. How did you figure out how much to eat? I don't know how to adjust it according to increased workouts, cardio vs strength training. I'm guessing I am around 1200 per day, give or take. I know it matters but I have lost 10 lbs since Oct so for now it is working for me. I don't want John to win, he has earned all his successes, but there is something irritating about him. Do you think he will gain all his weight back like Bob predicted?

Good interview, Good day...

Consumed 865 cals today

It was another long, busy day - but in a good way. This morning I noticed that my big toe was moving over the next toe even though I had the soft cast on to make it go the other way! I called the Doctor and they told me to go ahead and take it off since it isn't working -- I was thankful to not have to wear the boot anymore. Looks like I am definitely going back to Pt - BUT I am going to try another place.

I got a lot done at work, left around 4 and got more Christmas shopping done. I still had 35 mins left before my interview, so I ran in and got a manicure. I got out right in time to meet the interviewee. I love interviewing people over dinner - I can really get to know the person better and know if they will "fit in" with the others who work for me. We chatted for 4 hours!! I think this person would be a good fit; I just have to now figure out who will be doing what, etc. I have to also figure out how to get the other manager out of there in a calm, effective manner. I am really hoping that she is looking for another job. That would be the best.

Well, it is 11:30 PM and I am going to hit the hay! Night all!!

How did you accomplish 865 calories in one day when you sat over a dinner for 4 hours? Good for you, it's really impressive :)
With your bad food, how are you training? I need some ideas, since I'm broken as well !!
I'm just watching my caloric intake, and it seems to be doing well, but no clue how long until I plateau.
Keep it up!!

Too Much Wine and Getting A Lot Done...

Sunday, December 11, 2011

Consumed 560 cals today.

I didn't feel well this morning - too much partyin' last night at a friend's 50th bday party! I am not used to drinking a lot of red wine now, especially while not eating much and it upset my stomach. Yes, I am old enough to know better, but I did it anyway! So, I missed breakfast this morning and ate a small lunch and dinner. Hence the low cals consumed for the day. Discipline went out the window for one night. We all did have a really good time. My husband gave a totally awesome toast, I was so proud of him. He also did a skit with another friend. The birthday boy took the whole thing like a champ.

My son came over today and we went to the mall. I got A LOT of Christmas shopping done. We then hit the grocery store, so I am set for the week. I also got my Christmas card list done...I feel like I really accomplished a lot over the weekend. Yesterday was real bz, so I didn't have time to blog. The guest room furniture was delivered and I got it all set up in my son's old bedroom. I think he is going to stay over Christmas Eve, now he will have a place to sleep when he visits.

I am still wearing the soft cast on my foot, so I still have the boot. The Dr. said it would start unraveling and to leave it on until it does. He sounded like it would be one week. Today marks one week that I have had it on. It is a real pain in the butt to wear during the holiday season, especially with all the parties we are going to. I am getting tired of wearing pants. Next weekend is our work Christmas party. I had a dress picked out which will not work out well with this boot! I own a lot of clothes and really don't want to buy anything else. Guess I will have to play it by ear.

So, in a nutshell, that was my weekend. Tomorrow night I am interviewing someone after work for a managerial position, so I am not sure if I will get on here.

I hope you had a great weekend!

I, too, have found that I have become a light weight. I like to have a glass of wine at night.

My ex's mother and I used to drink peppermint schnapps when we cooked a meal for the family. We would get to laughing and pretty soon, we didn't care if they got supper or not.

You had a very busy day!

You did get a lot accomplished today! Usually when I've had too much to drink I'm worthless the entire next day. I hope you get rid of the boot soon.

Dr's Visit and Shopping...

Friday, December 09, 2011

I consumed 1206 cals today and lost another pound!

This morning I went with my husband to his Dr's appointment to see how he was healing. He had his prostate removed in September due to cancer. He is doing remarkably well and the Dr was quite happy. He said he is healing quick because he is younger and in good shape. It was a nice visit. I then went to work to finish getting everything together for my Christmas party for my staff next weekend. I ordered them Bath and Bodywork's gels and lotion and hand sanitizer. Now I just have to bag them when they come in.

My husband and I then went to the mall to pick up a gift for his best friend who will be very surprised tomorrow night at his 50th birthday party. My husband is preparing the toast this evening. It will be pretty funny since his best friend is quite a character.

We went out for lunch at a restaurant in Philly today. I had a really good bbq grilled chicken on a salad. We also went out for dinner at the mall - cpk. I had the norwegian salmon with wok stirred veggies. I would have rather ordered the greek pizza on thin wheat crust, but I am really close to my goal weight and don't want to blow it. I also reminded myself that I am going to an Italian restaurant tomorrow night for the surprise birthday party.

I still have my foot boot. It's really hard to walk around on it. The mall was particularly hard. I told my husband I wish I had my knee scooter back! I am wondering how I am going to do my Christmas shopping this year - it is gonna be tough. But, I will figure it out!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Congrats on another lb and on husband's good recovery. I went out for lunch today, decided to make it my bigger meal, and ordered grilled chicken with tomatoes, broccoli, and asparagus. It came with a salad, and I asked for the dressing on the side. Isn't it great to know that we can eat out and not blow all the progress we've made? emoticon

WooHoo Moment - Another Goal Completed - Yayyy!

Consumed 1163 Cals Today.

This afternoon I ran into Costco for a few items. While I was cruising the aisles, I noticed Gloria Vanderbilt corduroys. I love wearing cords in the winter. I decided to grab a size 6 in anticipation of fitting into them by Christmas. I was getting ready for the SparkPeople Live Meeting. One of the things we do every week is share a WooHoo moment. I decided to try on the pants - what would it hurt? Well, they fit! Yayyyy!! One of my goals this year was to be in a size 6 by December 9th! The date was decided way before I had foot surgery. As the date got closer, I thought I was close but thought it was going to take a little longer. And here, I got there 2 days before my deadline!

I could not have done this without SparkPeople and all of your support!
Thank you!

Make sure you give yourself credit for your amazing amount of discipline, too! I'd imagine that most people who get sidelined by a surgery probably gain weight rather than losing. You did GREAT!
