Errands and a SparkPeople Live Meeting...

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

Consumed 1080 calories today.

Ran a lot of errands for work and home including Costco. Foot is burning a little bit - I may have pushed it a little too much today. Sitting the rest of the night. I did manage to get a microdermobrasion today - no more wrinkles!! My face feels as soft as a baby's bottom!!

I also participated in a SparkPeople Live Meeting tonight. There were four people on the call. Everyone got to share a lot. It was on the Power of Optimism! -- Loved the topic!

Hope you had a great day!

Hi RoxyzMom! Thanks for the Beautiful Woman Award, that was sweet of you! I do not forward "chain emails"; however, I think you are a Beautiful Woman! One of these days I'll check out the LiveMind session. It sounds like it was very productive! Take it easy there and rest up! Listen to your body! Have a great day! emoticon emoticon

Lunch Homework...

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Calories consumed today - 1139 and 50 minutes upper body strength training
emoticon

So, for my SparkLive Meeting Homework this week, I had to pack at least 3 lunches per week for work and blog about it. This was an easy assignment for me. I pack my lunch everyday. I save a lot of money and know what I am eating. It also makes it a lot easier to track food consumed. I buy a lot of individual serving foods at the market so I can grab what I want to take quickly before heading out the door to work. I packed 5 lunches for work since our last meeting and will have one more packed before the meeting tomorow night.

Here was my lunch and afternoon snack today:

It consisted of Nutrisystem Chicken and Cacciatore Sauce, 2 cups tossed salad topped with broccoli and cauliflower, 1 tablespoon of Kraft Free Ranch Dressing and Yoplait Light Blueberry Pie Yogurt.
Total Calories: 302

I also packed Breakstone's Cottage Cheese Doubles with Blueberries for my afternoon 2:30/3:00 PM snack.

There is Nothing Wrong With Keeping Your Smaller-Sized Clothes...

Monday, November 14, 2011

I consumed 1184 Calories today and walked Roxy twice for a total of 30 minutes. I lost another pound and fit in a size 8 skirt today - Yayyy!

It's getting to the fun time for me losing weight. I have read several articles on why one should not keep their smaller-sized clothes when they gain weight. I have not read one article yet that has persuaded me to get rid of my smaller-sized clothing. I believe that keeping smaller-sized clothes in one's closet is a sign of optimism. It's the belief that there will come a day when they will fit again. We are not giving up.

emoticon

For me that day has come.

As I am losing weight, I am enjoying going into my closet and finding out what fits. I remember trying the same pair of jeans on last year with NO chance of zipping them up - and now they fit! What a great pat on the back! Of course, I get rid of the sizes that are "bigger" because I know I won't need those again!

I Can Drive Again!....

Sunday, November 13, 2011

It's been a little over 4 weeks since my foot surgery - which happened to be my right foot - and I am allowed to drive again - Yayyyy! The only shoe that fits over my foot right now without causing too much pressure are my Uggs, so that's what I am wearing.

On my first drive out I filled my car up with gas, went through the car wash, dropped my husband's prescription off at the drug store drive through, and I did a little grocery shopping. I bee-lined it to the produce section and stocked up on fruit (fresh pineapple, bananas), salads and fresh veggies. I also plan on making my family dinners this week so I grabbed a turkey breast, ingredients for stuffed shells, and ingredients for white chicken chili. They should be happy campers!

Tonight I am making them stuffed shells, broccoli & cauliflower, turkey meatballs and sourdough bread. I am going to eat nutrisystem lasagna and the broccoli & cauliflower and add a fruit. I try to pick a nutrisystem meal that goes with what they are eating so my meal smells the same (like tonight's pasta dish) so I don't feel like I am missing out on something. It seems like it is working so far. I am into my second month with it and may add one more month to get me through the holiday season. It's been a lot of work losing it, I don't want to go back. I also don't know at this point how long I have to wait before I can run again. (It is on my list of questions for the Podiatrist next week.)

So, back to driving. I have my girlie-girl appointments all lined up for the week now that I am FREE! Monday is Marshalls (I totally love and miss that store) and a manicure. Tuesday is the Dentist. Wednesday is a microdermobrasion (for wrinkles and sun spots). Thursday is hair color (yeah, I know it is a shock, but I am not really a blonde!) and hair cut. I am doing my part to get the economy going again. It's gonna be a great week!

UPDATE: My husband ended up getting a pizza and fries instead - I held my guns and stayed with my pre-planned dinner.

Total cals today - 1165

The Test of Two Restaurants in One Day!!...

Saturday, November 12, 2011

Between my mom and my husband's birthdays both landing on this weekend, I am on a restaurant tour! I went out last night with friends to dinner. Today I went to Firebirds for lunch - was able to have an under 200 calorie salad - complete with shrimp and strawberries and no dressing. I stayed away from the bread, and didn't try my mother-n-laws cheesecake.

Next we are off to Olive Garden. I pulled them up on SparkPeople and found the lowest calorie dinners. Besides Linguine with Marinara (which seemed to plain to me), the low cal ones that caught my eye were Venetian Apricot Chicken with Asparagus & Broccoli (400 cals) and Salmon with broccoli (501 cals). The chicken was also suggested on the SparkPeople website. I put both into my food tracker to see how each would pan out with what I have already eaten today. I will end up either way with low carbs and low protein so I am going with the low cal choice - the chicken. I am going to eat a plate of tossed salad with a smidgen of dressing. I am going to skip the side of pasta.

This choice will keep me in my calorie range of 1100 for the day. Just like all the articles tell us, it does pay to plan ahead on eating at restaurants. I have been amazed by some of the huge calorie totals on some of the entrées. It is hard to watch someone else order something that I saw was high on calories on-line. I don't tell them unless they ask - and they don't usually ask! emoticon

This restaurant stuff is a lot of work, I will be happy tomorrow when I eat all my meals at home!!

Mmmm...Venetian Apricot Chicken. emoticon I like that meal, and in my opinion, it comes with much too much sauce. If I order with the sauce on the side, it makes it even lower calorie.

Good for you for checking before you go to the restaurant! I usually forget to do this. Sounds like you are definitely determined to stay in your calorie range! emoticon
