It's been a little over 4 weeks since my foot surgery - which happened to be my right foot - and I am allowed to drive again - Yayyyy! The only shoe that fits over my foot right now without causing too much pressure are my Uggs, so that's what I am wearing.
On my first drive out I filled my car up with gas, went through the car wash, dropped my husband's prescription off at the drug store drive through, and I did a little grocery shopping. I bee-lined it to the produce section and stocked up on fruit (fresh pineapple, bananas), salads and fresh veggies. I also plan on making my family dinners this week so I grabbed a turkey breast, ingredients for stuffed shells, and ingredients for white chicken chili. They should be happy campers!
Tonight I am making them stuffed shells, broccoli & cauliflower, turkey meatballs and sourdough bread. I am going to eat nutrisystem lasagna and the broccoli & cauliflower and add a fruit. I try to pick a nutrisystem meal that goes with what they are eating so my meal smells the same (like tonight's pasta dish) so I don't feel like I am missing out on something. It seems like it is working so far. I am into my second month with it and may add one more month to get me through the holiday season. It's been a lot of work losing it, I don't want to go back. I also don't know at this point how long I have to wait before I can run again. (It is on my list of questions for the Podiatrist next week.)
So, back to driving. I have my girlie-girl appointments all lined up for the week now that I am FREE! Monday is Marshalls (I totally love and miss that store) and a manicure. Tuesday is the Dentist. Wednesday is a microdermobrasion (for wrinkles and sun spots). Thursday is hair color (yeah, I know it is a shock, but I am not really a blonde!) and hair cut. I am doing my part to get the economy going again. It's gonna be a great week!
UPDATE: My husband ended up getting a pizza and fries instead - I held my guns and stayed with my pre-planned dinner.

Consumed 1392 cals today. Ate really good. Went out to a restaurant with 10 friends for dinner - had 2 glasses of merlot with my dinner - a strawberry, mandarin orange grilled chicken salad. I was still low on fat and folates!
I am walking more, foot is doing good. Swelling has gone down a lot. Tomorrow I am going to find a shoe that fits - the boot they gave me to wear is way to big - my foot is falling through it! I am also taking off work to go through my closet and get my goodwill donations ready. I am going to get rid of a lot of clothes - I have WAY to many.
Tomorrow is my husband's 49th birthday. He still hasn't decided what he is wants to do this weekend. We are going to San Antonio, TX in February. I am surprising him tomorrow with Alan Jackson concert tickets to see while we are there.

I consumed 1030 calories today - and I am eating all day long!
Hopped on the scale this morning, lost another pound. I am coming up to a weight I always get stuck on when I am losing. I will not give up!! I have 12 pounds to go!
I made my husband and two sons one of their favorite meals tonight. Mexican chicken. It's chicken breast coated in chili powder baked, then topped with queso cheese and salsa, I served it with mexican rice. The only thing I could eat out of what I made them was the broccoli and grapes. I had nutrisystem bbq beef, beans and rice along with them.
We talked about balancing our meals (protein, grains, dairy, fruits) tonight at the SparkPeople live meeting. I got some ideas on other foods to add for my proteins. I add an extra protein to my breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. I have been eating morningstar veggie sausage, shrimp, and veggie dogs. I am going to start drinking protein shakes for some of my afternoon snacks. I am doing good with my dairy intake. I figure that it is good for healing my toe too.
For next week, we have to take pictures and talk about our packed lunches for work. It is nice to share ideas!
Well, I am going to go enjoy the Country Music Awards! Have a nice evening!
