Today my husband took me into work for about 3 hours. I got around good with my scooter - so glad the buildings are handicapped accessible! I got a lot of paperwork done, and caught up with some of my staff. I sat most of the time.
I brought a Nutrisystem lunch bar with me in case my husband wanted to go out to lunch while we were out. I planned on ordering a side salad and side veggie to go with it. That changed when he said he wanted to go to Chik Filet! He went through the drive-thru and I did not get anything! As we drove home, I had an "aha moment" -- no wonder it was taking so long to lose weight!! And, I was again thankful I had gone on a program before my surgery - I know I would have gained weight if I had not. I am proud to say I had my lunch bar and yogurt when I got home.
I made my family dinner tonight, too. I threw skinless chicken breasts in my crockpot this morning and they cooked all day coated with peach mango salsa.
I also made mashed potatoes, peas, broccoli, and served fruit cocktail. I had a Nutrisystem entree with the veggies and fruit. We all had a nice meal together and I was happy to be cooking again. I ate 1036 calories today.
Tonight I am going to look at the Chair Exercise DVD I received today in the mail if my husband gets a chance to bring the DVD player down from upstairs.

Today I didn't eat as much as I should have - 1075 cals. and low on carbs. I am not hungry today.
I went into work for about 3 hours to "catch-up" while no one was there. I am pretty tired. Was out with our friends until a little after midnight, wasn't sleepy so I messed around on the computer, and then one of my sons came down around 2 upset about school (college-grades-his major-his life), so I didn't get to sleep until around 3 AM! I woke up at 9 AM, so I am short about 2 hours. I am going to try to go to sleep earlier tonight, but I know he is going to want to talk again when he gets home from work around 11 PM.
I do feel stressed because he is in distress. I don't eat much when I am stressed - I actually lose my appetite.
Here's hoping he doesn't get in to late from work tonight!!

Today started out pretty boring. Stayed on the couch until 1 PM, washed my hair in the sink then got ready to go out with friends to a restaurant. The restaurant choices were Mexican or Seafood. I voted seafood, along with a few others so that is where we went. This particular group always orders appetizers and alcoholic beverages, so I decided to be proactive and pull up the menu on-line before we went. I put two seafood choices in the nutrition tracker (grilled tilapia and steamed shrimp). Shrimp won out (about half the cals of the tilapia). The restaurant picked only offered side salad as a veggie, so I got that and coleslaw. They brought out about 1 1/2 cups so I ate 1/2 and shoved the rest to the side. They also brought me a large corn on the cob, so I gave that to someone else. My friends ordered fried crab balls (crabmeat rolled in a ball, dipped in batter & deep fried) and a big bowl of heated melted cheese with pita bread. The crab balls came out with raw baby carrots and celery stix so I grabbed a couple of those while everybody else ate the rest. I drank an unsweetened iced tea. I was filled by the time I was done eating and did not have a hard time passing up on the fattening stuff.
Afterward, we went to one of the couple's houses to watch a movie and, of course there was more food and drinks there. I chose a bottled water. I brought a bag of Nutrisystem pretzels and ate those during the movie.
What helped me?
1. I told my friends I am on the Nutrisystem plan while my foot is healing. They also know I will not drink any alcohol on the plan and while my foot is healing.
2. I have thought about this plan for about 1 month now and I have been following this plan for a little over a week now. I am seeing big results on the scale so I am definitely focused on following through.
So, at the end of the day, I consumed 1063 cals in total.
