I was so busy last night that I am just writing about Day 6!
Washed my hair in the sink on my own in the morning, watched the movie "Bad Teacher" (wasn't that great) with my husband, ordered a new pair of pants from the Gap then took an hour figuring out an exercise plan for my upper body. Must have been a good plan because my arms definitely felt "the burn".
I participated in two LiveMind Meetings. The first was by Coach Nancy on running tips. I learned some tips to use when I am able to run again. She also suggested some books. I am going to order a couple of them on my Nook today. This is a good time to read them so I will be all ready when I get the ok to run from the foot Doctor. I think it will also help to keep me focused on running.
The second was with SparkGirl32 (Lauren). It was a weekly motivational meeting I have been participating in for about 6 weeks. Some of the participants on the call have lost 70 - 100+ pounds! Talk about self discipline! This week's topic was the importance of breakfast and breakfast ideas. And, I learned something new! Did you know your blood "gets sticky" at night and you are more prone to a heart attack or stroke in the morning because there is more of a chance of blood clots forming? Breakfast helps to prevent this!
And, finally... I lost 5 pounds in 1 1/2 weeks!
And, after watching what my husband and kids have been eating since my foot surgery I am so glad I ordered NutriSystem! While I am eating veggies, fruits, salads and Nutrisystem meals, they are choosing to eat: cheese quesadillas, white rice, cheese and broccoli, pizza, buffalo cheese steaks -- you get the picture. That's what they would have been making for me! I would have gained at least 5 pounds if they were cooking for me!
So, it was a good day - my foot continues to get better and I am keeping myself busy!

Today was awesome! NO PAIN at all, and I am off of the tylenol with codeine!
I got to sit out on the deck a few times today - it was hot out there! And, I got up the stairs (great tricep work-out) and got a shower.
I started going through chair exercises on-line, courtesy of the Chair Exercise Spark group. I am going to put together an exercise plan with them tomorrow. I can use my weights and resistance band with quite a few of them.
I also go to the foot doctor in the morning. It will be the first time I see my foot unwrapped.

Everything went very well today - very small amount of pain, most of the day my foot didn't hurt at all. My Dr. called me tonight to see how I was doing, and was very happy to hear my progress. He reiterated staying off of it, which I will.
Spent part of the day talking to my BFF. She told me that she is now running 3 miles a day, and I inspired her after our 5k race in September. She wants to run the Disney Wine and Dine 1/2 marathon with me next September, so we are going for it!! It looks like a blast.
My husband booked a trip for us to go to San Antonio, TX in Feb for 4 days. I have heard it is wonderful, it is something for us to look forward to as we both heal from our surgeries.
Nutrisystem went well today, too. Enjoyed rotini and meatballs for dinner, just got done eating my evening snack - a chocolatey peanut bar. YUM! Ate 1100 cals today.
Tomorrow I am going to start doing chair exercises. I am getting a lot of great tips from the Chair Exercise Spark Team.
