Plantar Fascitiis

My plantar fascitiis is finally clearing up after I pushed it running a 5k three weeks ago! It was worth it -- I beat my time ! emoticon Anyway, this time I knew to rest it -- only walked a little over a mile each day. It was really hard not running for three weeks, but I knew the pain would drag on if I didn't take it easy.

Today I used my IFIT trainer module with my treadmill -- Yayyy! If my foot holds up today, I am going to go for a jog tomorrow. My goal is to run my next 5k in three weeks.

    Linda is right, better not to risk worse injuries.

If the choice is between your fear of not being motivated to run later, and the fact that could possibly never run again EVEN IF YOU WANTED TO later, choose to risk lack of motivation and follow through on the prescribed rest.

    Thank you both for your words of encouragement! I am just worried that if I go to long, I will stop running and have to start all over again; or not have the willpower to start again.

And yes, I love my boston terrier - she is such a sweet, great dog - and spoiled rotten too! ;) She keeps me walking!!

    I so understand taking time off to heal, but you must, and also make sure its fully healed before trying again. Nothing sucks worse then re-injuring it and causing even worse damage the second time around..
Feel better soon, there will be plenty of runs and races in your future (and WAY TO GO beating your time!!)
Have a fabulous, fun weekend! Bostons are the sweetest dogs :)) I will never forget the awesome one we had :)

    I'm sure it's hard and frustrating taking time off to heal. But it will be so much better than running to early and making the injury worse. Glad to see you are healing nicely!

National Running Day

I read that today is National Running Day. My latest goal was to run a 5k in under 30 minutes. I completed that goal last Saturday, running a 5k in 29 minds 47 secs -- Yayyyy! Today, on National Running Day, I have decided to set a new goal of running a 5k in under 29 mins, 30 secs.

I wish I'd known before my run - I need all the hill-climbing power I can get - but it's fun to know now, too, when I'm saying, WHEW! LOL!
