Why, Oh Why?Wednesday, May 12, 2010I have been eating bad things lately. I mean things that sabatoge a weight loss. I think I am afraid to lose the last couple pounds to be in maintenance. I need to get that willpower back. I need to wait 10 minutes before I jump on the food so perhaps the cravings will go away or at least make an effort and go and brush my teeth to see if that works. I had chocolate cake for lunch. Why, Oh Why? I don't understand it. Please, give me strength! ![]()

I think everyone struggles with their emotions just before reaching any type of goal. There's a little bit of uncertainty about what will come next after the goal has been attained. By nature, most of us have a fear of the unknown; it's easier to stick with what's familiar. Like I said, I think this is normal for everyone. The difference for you is that you know what the end will bring, a more healthy lifestyle that will continue as it has during this goal seeking time. Although you will continue with the healthy lifestyle that you have built, your goals will shift; and you will create new ones. Your life has now become about continually moving forward and not about stagnation. There is no fear in this because you have already taught yourself that you can do it without pain. I say, keep going, set new goals, and remember that with a healthy lifestyle, all things are possible! Good Luck! Diana Kathryn Report Inappropriate Comment |
