Today's reminder...

Friday, July 08, 2011

A lot can be learned due to painful circumstances, but painful circumstances are not the only teachers. We live in a world full of wonders and today I will pay attention to their wisdom. Butterflies don't pry into others affairs, a pond doesn't worry about turbulence upstream and trees don't sit around worried about a forrest fire. Even if you have to live moment by moment, try not to worry about tomorrow and put your hope in now.

Oh...to live in perpetual peace!

Thursday, July 07, 2011

Prayer: Father God, You tell us that to be pure and peaceable is part of being wise. So is gentleness and willingness to yield. Please give us this kind of wisdom. Let us always be aware of the five enemies of peace inhabited with us—greed for wealth, ambition, envy, anger, and pride; Lord if we could banish these, we could without failing learn to enjoy your perpetual peace.

Prayer....if you are in the valley

Wednesday, July 06, 2011

Thought for the Day: VISIONS BECOMING REALITY Isaiah 35:7 says: The parched ground shall become a pool. Every God given vision will become real if we will only have patience. Just think of the enormous amount of free time God has! He is never in a hurry. God has to take us into the valley and put us through fires and floods to batter us into shape, until we get to the point where He can trust us with the reality of the vision. He is getting us into the shape of the goal He has for us.

Prayer: Lord God, give me the courage for the great sorrows of life and the patience for the small ones; and when I have laboriously accomplished my daily task, let me go to sleep in peace, knowing God that you are always awake

Not the best way to celebrate a holiday but at least you have an extra day to get moved in. Hope all went well.

Thought to ponder...

The only difference between stumbling blocks and stepping stones is how you use them! Obstacles cannot stop me from finding the good in my life unless I allow it.

Great thought! So often I kick myself for stumbling but rarely give myself credit for stepping up. We blame ourselves for stumbling and think of stepping up as normal but perhaps it's the other way around stumbling is normal and stepping up is success.
