The early class reunion we focused on new beginnings and hopeful starts.
After a few years the stories focused on restarts and postponed beginnings, temporary losses and direction changes as we continued to be in "class standings".
After a few more years, the bragging of accomplishments began to give may to humbly talking of personal tragedies and heartache, utterings of lessons learned through mistakes and dreams not accomplished.
After time we talked of hope for our offspring, perhaps ailments and surgeries, of people that passed on before us.
As the reunions continued, we talked of our common bond of survival. It took a lifetime of living for us to realize it is our humanity that brings us together and not the school that we attended.
