It's MY way!

Friday, September 24, 2010

My husband & I took a long walk today through the Metroparks. We began talking about my recent weight loss efforts & in conversation, he says to me: "Hon, you can never just do something half-way, can you?" And I thought about it a moment & said: "Nope, it's not my way!". When I make a commitment, I follow through. When I say I'm gonna do something, I do it! So, I guess my weight loss efforts aren't any different! I made a COMMITMENT to myself!

Com-mit-ment = (1) a pledge or promise to do something. (2) dedication to a long-term course of action.; engagement; involvement.

I am TOTALLY committed to succeeding at what I've set out to do! I've set my goals & I'm determined to reach them! I know what it is I must do! I WILL get the job done! I WILL be triumphant! I WILL succeed! It is MY WAY!

Catch me if you can! emoticon

You nailed it. I love being here at Spark. One of the best decision I ever made.
I start going to my teams, I huddle and then start reading blogs discussion boards and feel compelled to leave messages and comments. I can lose hours on this site. When I have the time like today it's OK, but other days I have to regulate myself.
Have a lovely evening.

I just got a new one from LLBEAN. It has the time, cals burned, and it resets itself to zero in the am. Has memory so you can backtrack. Not up to your par but still knowing that I walk at least 2.5 miles per day.

Hi Rose pedometers sure great. I set mine to zero every night and leave it on the table where I sit for breakfast,As soon as i am up it goes on. My underpants if need be. In the motor home dressing can be a pain to find clothes DH laughs at me with my pedometer on my underpants but I want every step even when i am camping. It really shows you the good days and the not so good, Tomorrow i will spend 4 hours in the car and walk 3.5 miles. that will be a good/ bad day. Much lower steps but walking in my first public 5K. I like to see it over 20 but like you I am usually 15 + on a good day. I have noticed cleaning is really hard work but cleaning floors you get no steps for. My pedometer has to be upright and you just cannot sweep and scrub floors Upright Pat in Augusta Maine.

That's fantastic. I need to find mine but I remember when I got it free from Kellogs they recommended 10,000 stepa a day. Your already blowing past that and you haven't even tried.

I hope you enjoy wearing yours as much as I have enjoyed mine.
I have used one for the last 5 or 6 years - more or less.
And I made sure I put it on each day since I joined SparkPeople.
I know it motivates me to move more than I normally would.
Summer is easy for me to get the steps in. I am always more concern during the winter months. I have to get creative...take the long way around to do things, walk at our local high school in the late afternoon.
Good luck and I'm sure you are going to love your new pedometer!!!
