I'm into my third week with SparkPeople, & it's been an awesome journey thus far! I track my foods every day! I measure & weigh my foods, & make certain I take in all my water! I'm walking a minimum of 30 minutes daily! (this from a BIG cough potato!) I log on to SP often! I am soooooooo grateful to SparkPeople for giving me this opportunity to get my life back & for making me feel like I can do this! 'Cause... I CAN DO THIS!

Now, I'm thinking how silly! It's been w/me all the while! What I had to do! Just eat less...& move more! So simple!!!

So now, I'm thinking I need to up the ante when it comes to exercise. I'm not ready for it though...not yet! I think I'll look into something like yoga. I'll put it on the "to do" list & do some research!

All in all...life is good! emoticon

Lost 7 lbs in 3 weeks!

Keepin' it short & sweet tonight! I lost 2 more pounds for a total of 7 to date! Waahooo!! So, I'm going to keep doing what I've been doing 'cause baby... it's working! Thank you SparkPeople!!!

Fun Facts about H2O!

-Our bodies are made up of 50% to 70% H2O! (about 10 gallons or 40 liters)

-We need 2 liters of H2O daily to operate our bodies!

-Lean muscle tissue contains 73 % H2O!

-Fat tissue is about 20% H2O!

-An adult can go w/out food for 8 weeks but only a few days w/out drinking H2O!

-H2O helps regulate our body temperature!

-H2O helps remove waste products from our bodies!

-Our bodies us H2O as lubrication!

Things I've changed since joining SP... (8/11/10)

1. Track everything I eat
2. Measure portions & have an increased awareness of "serving size"
3. Make better choices & select slimmed down versions of foods I enjoy
4. Have an increased awareness of "mindless eating"
5. I walk daily
6. Drink 8 or more glasses of water every day
7. No longer drink diet sodas
8. Buying more nutritious & less processed foods
9. Make a trip to the farmers market every few days
10. Care more about nutritional quality of food & read labels
11. Be mindful when eating out & make better choices
12. Spread the SPARK every chance I get & staying connected!

What has changed for me as a result of joining SP ...
I have more energy! I feel in control! I feel better about myself! I feel supported! I feel positively positive & enthusiastically enthused!!!
I FEEL I CAN DO THIS! I AM WOMAN, HEAR ME ROAR!!!

Afterglow!

Went for a walk in the Metroparks by myself this afternoon. Whew! It was hot! As I walked the path, I saw patches of sunlight resting upon the forest floor. It was very serene, & quite calming. I had so much time to think! Think about the upcoming week, about what's been going on w/my SP program. Think about how fortunate I am to have this opportunity to get myself back on track. Think about how thankful I am for having the ability to even walk today! Think about how thankful I am for all my family & friends! About being thankful I have a job & a nice home to live in! How thankful I am for having found SP! All the while I was lost in thought... I had walked for an entire hour! And I was totally drenched w/perspiration! I felt awesome!
