Absolutely Friends! It's back to the basics because I'm up 0.8 lbs this week! Well, & here's why! (No surprise!)
-I only partially tracked most days, & on 2 days, not at all!
-Was sick & ate soup & crackers x2 days. Mind you, I would eat a WHOLE package of saltines each time! Food addict that I am, I didn't stop at just 4-6!
-Experienced increased cravings & indulged in comfort foods
-Eating less fruits & veggies
-Halloween Party! (which was very fun, by the way!)
It was at a friend's home on Marco Island, in her driveway, no less! Weather was perfect & there was a steady flow of trick or treaters! My friend gave out 38 lbs of candy! Now, that's a lot of sweets! FYI: I had NONE! Nadda! However, I did enjoy a variety of "treats"! People made FUN stuff! A pumpkin head w/hummus "vomit" oozing from it's mouth! Guacamole "brains" w/cauliflower, & a spider cheese ball! A prosciutto skull (it was a skull base w/prosciutto wrapped on it to resemble muscle tissue)! There were mice cookies too! And LOTS & LOTS of food & beverage! FUN was had by all!!! Myself included!
Now my plan to get back on track is to eat only POWER FOODS this week! Power foods, of course, are...
-Whole grains (includes reduced calorie breads)
-Non fat dairy
ALSO, I will...
-STAY IN CALORIC RANGE
-TRACK! TRACK! TRACK!
-Portion control! The food scale is my friend!
-Drink the water!
GOT IT! Got it! Alright now, let's git 'er done! I was on target yesterday! I plan to remain on target today! I promise to do my very best! I hope you're all doing well, my friends! I'm doing PILATES & DRUMS ALIVE this morning! And I'm feeling EMPOWERED & STRONG! I've got this!

I hope all is well in your world!
I'm down another 0.2 lbs for a total of 22 lbs gone!
Honestly, I was hoping for more, but not surprised that it wasn't, & I'll tell ya why. I just got back from visiting up north about a week ago. And every time I make that trip, something happens to my psyche...I don't know if it's because we're eating out in restaurants, or that I become "bored" just sitting in the car, or just that I have too much "down time", whatever... Every time we've ventured up north in the past, I've gained weight. And I tend NOT to lose the weight I've gained, & I'll tell ya why. Because when I get home, I have the hardest time reigning in my appetite! It's the weirdest thing! I resist w/all my being any controls on portions & I CRAVE things like ice cream...comfort foods like potato soup & macaroni & cheese! I really paid attention this time I got back & really tried hard because of WW's (cause I KNEW I had to get on that scale!). I resisted tracking like the dickens! It was horrible! And my fights NOT done yet! I'm still fighting! And I know I'm doing it...& I don't seem to care! Go figure!
Well, my strategy has been to keep moving & keep tracking! It's worked thus far. I notice it's subsiding just a bit now...& I'm feeling more in control. I just wish I could figure this thing out because I really struggle every time I go up north! Although we're not planning anymore return trips now until next summer....thank goodness! This year, family is coming to visit me for Christmas...so NO SNOWY days for me!!! WOOHOO!!!
Alright guys, I hope everyone is doing well! Our humidity has finally broken & the days have become very pleasant, although at the moment, hurricane Sandy is gracing us with a bit of wind & rain & dark clouds since yesterday. So, just a couple of cloudy & rainy days...& then back to sunshine & warm gentle breezes! Oh, how I do LOVE living in SW Florida!

I'm down 1.2 lbs for a total of 21.6!
Let me just say that it's not been easy this week, as I was on the road for 2 days...eating out in restaurants & now staying w/family. As you know, when you're traveling, it's very difficult to remain in control & on track! I'll share what works for me!
*TRACKING everything! & stay in range!
*pack a cooler w/low fat yogurt/fruit/cheese/nuts/water for the road!
*exercise of some form, no matter what! Even just 20-30 mins a day!
*remain mindful of what I'm putting in my mouth! always!
I have to admit that it's been difficult at times when everyone around me is eating desserts & drinking beverages that I'd love to have! Case in point,...we went to a Mexican restaurant & of course, I have my most favorite! Shrimp fajitas! But when everyone ordered margaritas...which I LOVE! I looked up a margarita on WW's before I would order, & I found it's....(wait for it)
...19 points! I mean, really?!!! 19????!!!! So NOT worth it! That was my thought, anyway!
I kept looking things up before I ordered food in restaurants & sometimes it's crazy ridiculous the amount of calories or points some foods are! Many aren't worth it! My thoughts, anyway...
It certainly keeps me on my toes!!!
Alright guys, I hope you're all well! I'm staying w/family in Ohio & will be heading back to warmer temps & sunshine next Monday! Until then, I'm struggling to keep warm! I'm getting my exercise in, even though it's not my normal 2 hours/daily! I did get to do a SPIN class w/my youngest & I'm gonna do ZUMBA on Wednesday w/her too!

Yep, my friends! I hit it!!! The BIG 2-0!!!
Yep! 10% of my body weight! GONE!!!
Um, can ya tell I'm a bit excited?!!
Well, I am, by golly! And I'm at the half way mark of where I wanna be! I was down 2.4 lbs this week for a total of 20.4! And I did it in 8 weeks! Uh, and ya know what? I've been down this road before...deja vu! As I'm writing this, it occurs to me that I've written this before! Oh yea, so I'm asking myself what will be different this time? I mean, I know I've been down this road SEVERAL times in the past. So what's gonna be different? Well, for me, the thing that makes the biggest difference of all is...
*The tracking of my foods!
*And making better choices!
*Portion control (most definitely)
*And stress management
*being mindful of emotional eating!
*don't fear that scale! (laughing...)
ALL important! And all I've gotta say is...I'm gonna do it one day at a time! Now, that's the way to do it!!!
I'm leaving for Ohio tomorrow & will arrive on Friday to watch little Ashlie cheerleading w/her rah rahs! We are also gonna cheer one grandson on in football (as the other one broke his ankle & is out for the season). We plan to do some clambakes & get some fresh fish in (like walleye & perch) while we're up there! They don't have any of these down here in SW Florida, & we're missing 'em! Can't wait!!!
