I Mastered the Stability Ball!

Woohoo! I finally mastered the stability ball! I beat the HECK out of it! Laughing.....



I took the "Drums Alive" class at the Y this morning......& what a riot! It was absolutely FUN-FUN-FUN! It's primarily an aerobics class w/a twist! It's billed as "traditional aerobic movements with the powerful beat & rhythm of the drums". It's a one hour workout for "the entire body, mind & spirit"! What we do is set up a "base" using stacking square racks which are open in the center...then we put our stability ball in the opening to keep it in place. They we take drumsticks (yes, real drumsticks) & "play" our stability ball...drumming to music & the aerobic movements called out by an instructor! Um, she was more like a drill sergeant! Laughing........but in a NICE way! Smiling....

All the ladies in the class helped me set up cause I had NO clue! You position yourself with a ball on all sides of you......so you can play ALL of them during the workout! It was an hour of constant movement, jumping, shouting, reaching, punching, & SWEATING! Oh my goodness.......I mean S-W-E-A-T-I-N-G!!!!

It was one strenuous WORKOUT! emoticon I mean INTENSE!

And I LOVED every minute of it! emoticon

If you ever get a chance to take a class....do it! It's easy to follow along & you will get an AWESOME workout! I, for one, will be taking this class again for sure!

    It sounds like a lot of fun! Where do you take all these classes (Zumba, etc.)? Is it activities by your new condo? I miss all the activities from our resort in Mesa. Can't wait to get back there!

    Just listening to drums gets my BP way up there and my energy level too. I have never heard of it. I imagine there is so much more offered down tere in Florida. You will always have a full house. In Maine it is different I was often the only one at curves. If I ever see it advertised I will be there. Enjoy your day and the long weekend HUGS Pat in Maine. Jumpin' For JOY!

Just 'cause I wanna!

Well, snacking got the best of me last evening-but I'm determined to maintain control today! I'm not gonna let it get me down! I'm feeling playful & I'm jumpin' for JOY 'cause it's a brand new day!

I'm so EXCITED! Gonna take a new "Drums Alive" class tomorrow! It's traditional aerobics movement w/drumsticks & a stability ball! Sounds FUN, don't it! And I'm thinkin' of taking an intro Tai Chi class next Tuesday (classes are Tues & Thursday)! I wanted to take tennis class but it's on Wednesday mornings...& I'm doing ZUMBA then! And I don't want to give that up 'cause I'm LOVIN' the ZUMBA! Ole!

I'll let ya know how it all goes! I'm just keepin' it FUN!

Yes I CAN! emoticon

Weight is 166.0 this morning! Down 1.2 lbs!

I'm down 64 pounds since February 2010!

I'm down 8 pounds since I began the Diabetes Challenge 8 weeks ago!

emoticon I'm feeling victorious my friends!

Alright.......today is ZUMBA! I will also walk 30 mins this evening w/hubby! I WILL stay in calorie range & PLAN my snacks! I WILL drink my water! I WILL track honestly & accurately! I WILL measure & weigh everything I put into my mouth!

    It's the only way to go. I do it but I am not having your success rate. Still I knew it would be more difficult since I rarely over ate.
I am trying to really up the exercise minutes but I know it will cut in to my Spark time. I am not only a slow metabolizer I am the slowest typist ever.

One-Two Punch!

I need to fight my friends! My evening snacking & portion distortion has gotten way out of control! So I'm donning the gloves & giving it the ol' one-two punch!

I will...

- plan all my snacks!
-track honestly & accurately!
-weight/measure EVERYTHING!

Today I WILL walk/jog for 90 minutes! I WILL complete 15 min of ST w/the stability ball! I WILL track all I eat! I WILL stay in calorie range! I WILL drink my water!

I CAN do it! emoticon

I have to watch my snacking at times also. My old 'bad' habits seem to sneak back in ever so often. You are so wise to focus on planning your snacks and recording them. Your daily exercise routine is so healthy too. Gives you strength to choose healthy snacks.
