Hello Fellow Sparkers!
I had NO doubt I would be successful when I chose to begin The Summer Challenge! I'm down exactly 4 lbs, my friends!!! And that's in just one week!!!
Now, THAT'S what I'm talking about!!!
As many of you know, I had been on Weight Watchers for quite a few months & had done very well, losing over 30+ lbs. It's a good program, but costly...& since I wasn't really losing any weight of significance there as of late, I thought I'd try another approach. Another issue w/the weight watchers for me was that I didn't care for the etools & preferred the SP tracker, probably cause I was more accustomed to using it & I just like the protein, carb, fat (& calcium & fiber for me) monitoring versus "points" on WW's. Being a diabetic, it's important to know these things. And honestly, WW's does push their products a bit much...& I'm thinking that some of these products aren't all that good for you, well, let's just leave it at that. My opinion...
Anyway, I recently purchased The Spark Solution & they offered The Summer Challenge for 2 weeks w/3 free months of SparkCoach! Well, I saw this as my opportunity to get back on the weight loss track! And it worked, by golly! I do love the SparkCoach aspect of the program because it kinda sets the tone for me every morning, & it helps me focus. Not that I'm following the food plan exactly, cause I'm not. I started out doing it but I got side tracked w/my dinner party mid-week & I had so many leftovers (& spent quite a bit of my food budget) that I was eating chicken & salmon all week! It was delish tho! FYI: I make the salmon recipe from SP...& it was awesome! Title of the recipe is: World's Best (And Easiest) Salmon.
And I've learned something about myself this week & it's that I like to eat simple! Especially breakfast & lunch. I love salads w/lots of fixin's! It's dinner that I like to experiment with...& Iike to try new recipes for. There are so many good recipes in the book, that I'm gonna be trying 'em for quite a while! Just not all at the same time! It's just too crazy for me!
I'm loving my new gym! I'm at the Naples Y now & there are so many more classes offered! The best part for me is that Spinning is now FREE! Oh baby!!! I've been Spinning 3-4 times a week! LOVIN' the Spin!!! Also, I've been doing a circuit class & kettlebells...both are kickin' my butt! And I've begun Body Sculpting class which is basically working w/weights, bands, balls, & tubes! All strength training!
It does a body good!
Alright, I'm gonna be working on Week 2 here, so let the games continue! I hope you're all doing well, my friends! I've been checking in on ya & I see we're all moving forward! It's one day at a time! Just keep moving forward & keep reaching for those stars!!! The sky's the limit, ya know!!!

I arrived back in Florida yesterday evening & I'm so glad to be home! I hope everyone is well & staying healthy! I, for one, have caught a bad cold along the way & am under the weather at the moment. I haven't been sick in quick a long time, so my body is a wreck & I'm miserable! I did want to get these pics of the 5K out to ya, even though I know Cathy has posted many already! By the way, she did a FABULOUS job, my friends! It was her first 5K, so a big CONGRATS goes out to COMPUCATHY for a job well done!!!

I had such fun running the 5K w/Cathy in Cincinnati! It was a bit cold, I must admit though...could be partly the reason why I'm sick now! Aaaacchhooooo!!! Or it could be the cool temps we experienced in North Carolina when we visited w/friends on Emerald Isle! It was beautiful there...but way too cold for me! I know they've warmed up a bit since we left, by golly! So happy for them!
I'm a freeze baby, that I am!!!
Alright, I'm back in Florida now & ready to get back to my routine! I ate horribly the last couple of days, not to mention I've had my fair share of wine this past week! I'm taking the day to refresh & shake this nasty cold. Getting back to eating normally (I've really missed it!), drinking my water, & looking forward to resuming my exercise routine (back to the gym!!!)!
