The Return of the...

Friday, March 22, 2013

So here's the thing. Last year I managed to make it to the Anime Expo weighing in at 168. I was super proud of myself, and I felt really good in my outfit. (I was a badass with a watergun!) Then life caught up with me and I couldn't go on my late afternoon walks anymore. It got darker earlier. It was still too hot at lunchtime (hot as in "you can probably get heatstroke, or at the very least be very sweaty and offend your coworkers"). Eventually I gained a lot of that weight back (12 lbs) and it sucked.

So in December, I started taking Zumba classes, and let me tell you, it was probably the best decision I made last year. I realized how much I missed dancing, and it made me happy. Since then I've lost 11 lbs and am really close to getting back to what I was. I'm hoping that by the next Anime Expo I'll have lost 20. If I'm lucky, maybe more :)

Keep it up. Congrats on finding something you love. Zumba is a blast though I look like an idiot as I have no coordination, but I have lots of fun. Blessings to you on your journey

No "Le Challenge de Fall"

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

Noooo I haven't given up hope, nor have I slacked off or anything like that. I haven't eaten the whole bakery (including its building materials). I kind of realized that I joined the challenge at the worst time possible: as I reached my wall. I'm thinking I may be stuck here for a while. I somehow managed to pass the 180 mark, but I think I'm teetering in between, and I realized that I need to stop looking at the scale so often at this point. It'll only stress me out. The fact that the challenge requires you to post your weight every week will only add to that.

I will keep on battling this, with (I'm hoping) the power of Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee, Dolph Lundgren, or whichever mystical power decides to assist. I ended up changing the date of my goal weight loss to March. By Halloween I'd love to be 175, so we'll see. I'll be good.

Le Challenge de Fall?

Tuesday, August 30, 2011

I'm back! Oh dear, have I not done all that well in coming to SP lately, but I've maintained the weight. After a few weeks of being in a funk, I'm back. I started swimming and walking again. I even bought a scale that does the decimal thing, if you can believe that (I got sick of my old scale being about four pounds off)! So, you know, I'm trying not to be lazy this time. Curse my sloth!

Oh yeah, and I decided to do the fall challenge. I think given that everything is a bit spread out, it shouldn't be too bad. However...

Will my procrastinatory (I know, I made that word up) tendencies take over, or will I prevail and look really sweet in whatever costume I choose for Halloween? Tune in next time!

Oh yeah, and before I forget, I also added a couple of pics of my cosplays. :)

I Did It! (Hooray!)

Saturday, July 16, 2011

So I got over myself. I went to Anime Expo this year. I dressed up. I wasn't the best, but the experience was so amazing! I can't wait to do it again next year, especially since by then I'll have a way better figure emoticon

I should also note that certain things kept me from exercising like a I normally would, but I maintained my weight. The scale number finally moved a couple of weeks ago, and I'm ready to take it on again!

One downside of losing weight...

Tuesday, May 24, 2011

is that I have to do more ironing! HA!

My fat can no longer hide the fact that I hate pulling out the board and waiting for the iron to heat up.

Kimba: That post will probably happen sometime in the future emoticon I'll miss my girls, but at the same time i won't miss my occasional backaches.

Gigglepixie: Well, when I was heavier, I was big enough that when I put on my clothes they stretched out so that you couldn't see the wrinkles. That is no longer the case. :)

I agree with Kimba... that's what I thought it was gonna be about.

... but I don't really get why you have to iron more.... ?
