IT'S A BOY!!

Tuesday, January 27, 2009

I guess 3rd time really was the charm. We went yesterday for our 3rd ultrasound and it was quite obvious this time that we are having a little boy. I was quite surprised because I have really had this instinct the whole time that it was going to be a girl, so I'm still trying to get used to the idea. My husband seems more excited now. I think he's pretty excited that we're having a boy and not a girl. Everything looks good though. The doctor finally got all of his measurements and we saw in great 2D detail our baby. This was the first ultrasound where I could actually say it looked like a baby. We saw the face, fists, ears and eyes. It was amazing! He tried to get a 3D or 4D picture for us, but the baby is just too big now and there wasn't enough space between the placenta and the baby to get a good shot. Oh well. I'm just happy that we finally know what we are having and that he's healthy. Now if we just get a house, I can start really preparing. I feel completely unprepared because we haven't bought hardly anything thinking we'd wait until we got a house and found out whether we were having a boy or girl. Now I just want to run out and start stocking up on everything. Hopefully we'll hear on the house soon that we have an offer in on.

The doctor said the baby is measuring about a week bigger than expected and he moved my due date up to April 6th. It's scary to think I only have 10 weeks to go before the due date! I'm starting to get really nervous about the whole delivery thing. The birth classes aren't helping much either, but it is nice to know what will be happening. I really had no idea and I've been learning a lot.

Well, here's the picture that says "I'm a boy". Enjoy!

I'm so happy for you. I have two grandsons and I only had girls. Little boys are so cute. They are so different from little girls and they are for such a joy. I know you will love him to pieces. You will get through the childbirth, all of us moms do it and then not long after the first one, you'll be wanting another. Good luck on purchasing your new home. I hope everything goes the way you want. Take care of yourself.

How exciting for you. Congratulations! I was convinced my entire pregnancy with my first that I was having a girl so I was a little in shock when he popped out. Healthy is all that matters in the end and you have obviously been taking very good care of yourself so you should have a beautiful and healthy little baby boy!

It's a...GIRL...maybe!

Thursday, December 18, 2008

I had my ultrasound Monday, Dec. 15th and the doctor told us that he's 70% sure that it's a girl. I've been thinking for the past couple of months that it is a girl, but we still aren't convinced for sure. The ultrasound machine wasn't working very well, and the doctor said that they are getting new ultrasound machines in 2 weeks. So, he actually scheduled me to come back for another one on the 29th to be one of the first ones to use the new machines. I'm hoping that they will even have the 3D picture technology in the new machines and we will be able to have a little more certainty at that point if it's a girl. Until that point, I'm just going to keep believing that it is a girl. I'll let you know when it's more certain.

I'M PREGNANT!!

Wednesday, September 03, 2008

So what I didn't say in my last blog entry was that not only did I make it to my ultimate weight goal, but I also reached my dream goal just that same week. Now that I'm in my 8th week and my first appointment is next week...and I've had to chance to tell close family and friends...I can finally say that I'm pregnant! I'm due April 14th!!

I didn't know if it would ever happen but this just goes to show what losing weight can really accomplish. Before I lost all this weight, I was my own birth control. Doctors told me that I would most likely have to take extra measures to get pregnant because it would never happen on its own. Well, I can tell you that it was a bit of a surprise when I found out that I was pregnant, but I'm so excited...when I'm not busy being nervous. I'm making another big change in my life going from losing weight to being pregnant. I hope the transition won't be too difficult, but things are going well. I'm set in my new lifestyle, so other than increasing my calories, I don't have to make a lot of changes to be healthy for my baby. I'm the most healthy I have ever been in my whole life...what a perfect time to have a baby!

I MADE IT TO MY ULTIMATE GOAL!!

Monday, August 18, 2008

When I first started this journey over 2 years ago, I didn't ever imagine I would reach my ultimate goal...and now, here I am! I can't believe how far I've come! I've lost a grand total of 110 pounds - most of that being in the last year since my husband started this journey with me. We both managed to reach our goals yesterday and are very happy with our weight loss. We've started a whole new life as quite different people. We're a lot more active and can do a lot more things than we ever could before. Thank you Sparkpeople for giving us a new life!

The photo is of my husband and I standing in a pair of his biggest pants. I've always seen pictures of people doing that when they've lost a lot of weight, but we thought it was neat that we both fit in 1 pair.

I'VE LOST 100 POUNDS ON SPARKPEOPLE!

Tuesday, July 01, 2008

Hey! I didn't think I'd EVER reach that wonderful moment when I could say I had lost 100 pounds, but I did it! I only have 8.6 pounds to go to reach my ultimate goal of 150. I feel so happy and healthy and I can't believe the pictures of me from before SP were really me. I can't believe how different I look. I could never have lost all of this weight without Sparkpeople and support from my husband (also using Sparkpeople). My husband has lost 170 pounds now and reached his goal and nobody even recognizes him anymore. It has been an amazing journey so far and I hope to reach my ultimate goal soon.

Thank you SP and all of the wonderful support groups I've been in - especially the STOP group and the BL Blue Team group who I have been with for almost the whole journey!! You are all AMAZING people!
