Back again and recommitted

Friday, July 11, 2014

It has taken me a very long time since the birth of my 3rd child to find the motivation and desire to change my eating habits to be able to lose the weight I have regained with my pregnancies. I'm not sure what finally snapped in me, but I just decided that I don't like the way I look and the person I've become. I'm tired of seeing myself in the mirror and wishing I looked better. My husband asked me once what it would take to motivate me to get healthy again, and I told him a trip to Hawaii wouldn't hurt. He said we could find a way to do that if I reach my goal weight. So, here I am once again logging all my food and starting a new exercise program to try and reach my goal. I'm shooting for 170 by November, and then I'll go for 150 after I reach the first goal. Almost 50 pounds to lose. This time I'm really ready to commit and do what it takes to get back to that elusive 150. I know it can be done because I've done it before...6 years ago with the help of Sparkpeople and great friends. Let's do this!

Hey Paula. - I am with you. I have been in SP for over 8 yrs and I am back where I started from weight wise. WHY? SP has a lot of tools for us to work with and I am familiar with them, but obviously I haven't stuck with them. I have recommitted and doing what I need to do to see that scale go down. I like seeing the scale go down, that's why I joined SparkPeople. That's why we created a weight loss team. We are so tickled to have you on our team. We can do this. MA

I'm working at re-losing the weight too. Been struggling the last year and now have 55 pounds to lose. I have never been this heavy and am finally finding the motivation to get moving again.

Best of luck in your journey.

Kathy

If you made a vision collage before, be sure it is displayed someone you will see often. If you haven't made one, then make one now. I keep mine in the kitchen.

We can do this!

Battle of the bulge

Wednesday, June 13, 2012

Well, I kind of lost track of my health and my weight loss with all of the things going on with our family. I have just decided that I really need to make my health and weight loss a priority again. I have started logging my food and am determined to exercise and keep eating better. I am very tired of this huge bulge around my middle not to mention the other fat hanging around. I had lost part of the baby weight, but I have been gaining it back since Rosalie has mostly stopped nursing. I really do not want to get back into the 180s or higher, so I'm recommitting myself to reach my lowest weight once again of 150. I know I can do it as I did it once before. Maybe I'll make it this time before we get another addition to the family. My biggest downfalls right now are sugar and no exercise. That is going to change NOW.

Back to the weight loss track!

Tuesday, September 06, 2011

Well, after having my second child, I have just over 30 pounds to lose to reach my original goal of 150. I'd really like to start now so that I don't gain another 20 pounds like I did after my first child. I really want to be able to wear those cute small clothes that I bought after the original weight loss journey. Right now they are in storage just waiting for me to get back down. I only got to enjoy them for a few months before, so I'm looking forward to pulling them back out of storage. Let the new journey begin!

Well congrats on the birth of your 2nd child. I hope all is going well. I know what you mean about the weight gain after pregnancy! I had lost all of mine, and then 6 months later it started coming back from out of no where! LOL!
You can do this...you've been through it, and I imagine you have all your ducks in a row! Best of luck!

Little Rosalie was born!

Thursday, July 21, 2011

I haven't been on here in quite awhile since I got pregnant. I wanted to come back and tell everyone that Rosalie was born June 29th. She is 3 weeks old now. She is adorable and her 2 year old brother loves her. She has been sleeping better at night, but juggling 2 kids during the day by myself is still a challenge. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon.

I have already lost about 25 pounds and am hoping to be back at pre-pregnancy weight soon. I will probably be joining back into the challenges within the next month too to get back to my lowest weight and smallest clothes. I hope some of my friends are still around. See you all soon!

She is gorgeous! You will get the hang of it and then the satisfaction of managing is immense. I did it twice (had Diane in '68 and Ron in '70 and then took a 4 yr. break and did it all over again in '74 and '76 with Tim and Sonja) and it was fantastic.

Baby girl this time??

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Well, I had my ultrasound about a month ago and am just now getting around to updating my sparkpage. The doctor said he is 80% sure it's a girl this time. Unfortunately the baby didn't cooperate very well and the umbilical cord went right between the legs making it almost impossible to tell. This is what happened on my first one with Jacob too. The doctor also told me 80% sure it was a girl on his first ultrasound. We had 2 more chances with Jacob to get it right since the ultrasound machine wasn't working right. However, this was our only shot with this one. So, we have decided to proceed as if it really is a girl this time, but have a boy's name picked out also just in case.

I really will be happy either way, but the problem is that if I get my hopes up that it's a girl and get all excited buying cute little girl clothes, then I'm worried I will be disappointed if I have a boy. I have already started buying a few girl clothes, but I'm trying not to go all out just in case. I also got a bunch of clothes from a cousin who is done having kids. So, I should be all set either way. If I have a boy, I have lots of clothes that should work. I'll just have to be prepared either way.

I'm crossing my fingers for a girl just the same.

I hope you do end up getting your girl, but I have two boys and I wouldn't trade them. LOL Still.... a girl would have been fun. I know I would be spending more money on her though. God probably knew that and gave me boys so I could remain more thrifty. :-) Either way, you will be blessed!
