Well it's still going in the right direction

... That is to say I've lost another pound this week even though I've not really worked out much. In fact this is probably the least exercise I've done in a week since I joined the site.

I'm not especially happy about that but an incredibly stressful week at work last week (tears before and after work most days last week, fun!), cutting way back on junk food and removing comfort eating as well as being ill seems to have sent my motivation AWOL.

However last night I sucked it up and managed to get through half an hour's worth of SP videos without coughing up both lungs and I feel so much better for it this morning. It does amaze me how quickly my fitness and strength drops off. Going 2-3 days without doing anything (other than walking to the station each morning which is just under a mile) really makes a big difference and makes it that little bit easier to let myself not bother.

Anyway, as I'm feeling mentally and physically better I'm looking forward to getting in a couple of good workouts over the weekend and then hopefully next week I will break the 1 stone barrier!

First Full Workout While Flatmate Was At Home

So, this may seem silly but this was an incredibly big deal to me.

Today, for the first time I did Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred while my flatmate was in the flat! I did it in my room and hopefully it didn't disturb him too much but I'm so pleased with myself. I gave it everything I had and I am really starting to enjoy it!

I've always been too embarrassed to do this before (he's a bit of a fitness freak, cycles to work, does triathlons etc - we have very little in common!) but today I gave myself a long pep talk at work: think how good you feel after, remember how working out relieves your stress? you live there too (and pay him rent! - he owns the flat) and also BECAUSE YOU'RE WORTH IT. Well, it's a cliche for a reason, right?

So, yes, well done me. Going to give myself a massive pat on the back, have dinner and then reward myself by working on my CV. Okay, not that exciting but you can't have it all.

    That is a big deal! I haven't met anyone yet who was born a fitness freak--we all have to start somewhere, right?? So hopefully he is going to cheer you on! emoticon

    I can understand it being a big deal.

I used to not want to do any kind of exercise in front of my partner. It doesn't bother me at all now though, but it was tough for a while.

    I completely understand! I am still uncomfortable doing my video workout when my husband is home! Though, I have gotten to where I will do my weight exercises while we watch TV together.
