My main goal for October was to track everything I eat, eat out less often, and skate more. I accomplished tracking what I ate and skating often. I ate out way too much and need to cut back on that...so that will be my focus for this month...
This month I will focus on:
Eating in more often
Preparing menus and snacks
Cross training to help improve roller derby progress
These focuses will cause me to:
Lose 5-8 pounds
Improve eating habits
Improve my skating skills and speed
Explore new recipes and substitutes
Some of my other goals/to do list:
Finish Christmas shopping (like to get this done early)
Continue cleaning the office area
Make budget for this month
Vacuum and clean my car
Transfer old files to new external drive
If I have time...
Practice guitar once a week
Make good peanut brittle
I woke up this morning to find that my scale is going down.
I accomplished the first goal of my project at work.
I had a great tasting smoothie for lunch as my lunch out treat.
It was nice weather today which means continue to the skate park.
I finally am getting my crossovers down. +
Instructor said that I have improved.
I'm gaining speed as well as balance.
Then ended the night watching a new South Park episode.
What a way to end humpday!
There are no roller skate emoticons so I had to improvise.
This is a day early, but I figure why not get the focuses and goals out before October 1st turns into October 10th. I normally like to do a list categorized into weight, fitness, nutrition, and personal goals, but this time I'm doing it different. Instead of categories and point blank goals, they're going to be focuses and then goals based on what I'm focusing on for this month. Here it goes:
This month I'll focus on:
Writing down everything I eat.
Eating in as much as possible.
Track my food spending.
Get in 3-4 skate sessions per week.
Getting over the fear of falling and going fast.
By focusing on these items I will accomplish:
Weight loss of 5-8 pounds
Have more money in savings
Get my 5 in 25 or close to it
Cut eating out by 30%
Making a monthly budget plan that I can stick to
Other goals I would like to accomplish:
Clean the office area completely
Become more efficient with menu planning
Gain better eating habits
Goals that are low priority but would be nice to accomplish:
Make good peanut brittle
Practice guitar twice a week
Clean the downstairs closet
I didn't realize how long it's been since my last blog...or my last sign in to sparkpeople. Yikes! So I've gotten back on track and gotten off track...and back on. I did start this Eat Stop Eat program which incorporates fasting and it works for me. The weight loss is slow, but it's happening. I do need to get myself in check with my eating habits because they're horrible. I'm embarrassed to say what they entail. I know I just need to take it baby steps at a time right now and not overwhelm myself. For right now, just work on tracking my food again. Get in that habit as well as cooking and making meals for myself at home. I have spurts where I'll plan out weekly menus for several weeks, then I'll get off track and eat out (because of convenience and it tastes good) way too much.
I am on track for exercising. I started learning roller derby (well just skating for right now) and I'm addicted. This is honestly the first activity that I've started doing that I thoroughly enjoy and can't wait until the next practice. I'm already missing skating and we had a 2 hour practice last night. Yes, it's officially a drug now. Stay tuned for future blogs announcing my derby name.
