Good morning All!

Went out riding this morning, below are my stats:

Distance - 1188 mi
Duration - 1:11:18 hr/min/sec
Exe. Time in Heart Zone - 13:55 min/sec
Cal burned - 645 kCal
Pace - 6 min/mi
Speed - 10 mi/h

I am training for my 30 mile ride, from what I read I have to ride minimum of 10 miles per day for 3 days during the week and one day out of the weekend complete the full 30 miles. My plan is to ride tomorrow & Thursday, rest Friday and complete the 30 miles on Saturday. I have less than 2 weeks left before the event and I need to attempt it at least once.

Good Morning!

It's been way too long, have to make time to update my blog.
My ride went OK- I finished and that was important for me. We started out in Central Park, over the Brooklyn Bridge and ended in Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Immediately after leaving we hit a couple of rolling hills and I was dead last & thought to myself how pathetic and I'm not gonna be able to finish this ride.

But I did not give up! I kept going, pushing myself more and more and finished the ride and was not LAST in the end! It was a great experience one that I will never forget and one that made me realize just how out of shape I am but I felt great that I completed my goal. My tears almost rolled down my face when I was on top of the Brooklyn Bridge because I knew the finish line was not too far away. It also gave me more determination to continue forward so I registered for the bike MS event on Sunday, October 3rd - 30 miles Yikes! I'm training and there aren't any hills but it is an extremely popular ride with almost 5,000 riders and that makes me nervous but looking forward to it! I also registered for the Tour de Bronx 25 miles on October 24th & may register for another ride in October - - - I'm hooked !
Below is a pic of me at the finish line, I will share some more pic's of the ride later.



Lost an additional 4.4lbs this week and it gives me more motivation to continue on my path to a healthy life!

Well it's been quite some time since my last post.

Last ride I posted was back on 8/13 but I rode up until 8/21, just didn't have time to post on my blog. I slacked off this past week and I didn't go riding I don't feel good about that, I only have 15 days til my riding event. But, I know it will go well because it's only a 15 mile ride being that it's my first time I'm a bit intimidated by the amount of riders that will be there. I know I will get used to it and everyone goes through the same apprehensions. I'm still hyped about it and I am already planning to register to ride in the Tour de Bronx this October, waiting for the registration period to open up.

Below are today's stats:

Distance - 9.31 mi
Duration - 1:06:27 hr/min/sec
Exe. Time in Heart Zone - 15:30 min/sec
Cal burned - 659 kCal
Pace - 6.45 min/mi
Speed - 9.3 mi/h

Not a bad day but considering I have not cycled all week I'm having sharp pain in my right knee. Will ice it and elevate & make sure I wear my brace tomorrow while riding. All in all good ride I feel great and my motivation and determination is not wavering! I'm watching what I eat, making better choices & the weight is slowing coming off!

I'm not giving up!

Distance - 6.36 mi
Duration - 43:37 hr/min/sec
Exe. Time in Heart Zone - 10:39 min/sec
Cal burned - 376 kCal
Pace - 6.76 min/mi
Speed - 8.87 mi/h

It was a little tougher this morning and actually got a leg cramp while I was walking up a hill. I'm drinking more water, I think it was because I jumped off my bike to walk up a hill and did not stretch my calves. Feeling good about completing my ride today but I really need to push myself on Sunday because I need to increase the distance I ride before the upcoming ride.

I'm super excited, I continue to watch what I eat and try to incorporate fruits and veggies whenever I can. Now I look forward to the weekends because I know I can ride longer and not have to worry about rushing home to get ready for work.

Did I say work? Gotta go & get ready now!

Exe. Time in Heart Zone - 15:51 min/sec
Cal burned - 424 kCal
Pace - 8.33 min/mi
Speed - 7.2 mi/h

It went much better today, tried to keep a steady pace because I need to continue to build endurance and not burn out before I reach the finish line. I'm not sure what made a difference during this morning's ride, if it was because I rested yesterday, or because I tried to keep a steady pace or a combination of both. Regardless I feel great, some of my clothes are starting to fit loose on me !

It was difficult waking up early today to go cycling but before the excuses came pouring out I was out of bed dressed & ready to go. I am determined to continue cycling every morning I have goals set that I am going to meet!
