Remember that just because you gained weight does not mean that you haven't lost fat. It also doesn't mean that you're headed down the wrong path.

When we change our lifestyle habits or eating habits, our body will often gain weight before it loses it. This is a natural response: especially if your previous way of eating has been bad.

Keep your chin up! You haven't failed in this mission! Part of the journey is to learn patience and keep on working hard toward your goals.

Don't let anything stand in your way -- especially a few pounds!

Jenn

I gained this week too. We can get over this set-back, pick-up the pieces and forge ahead. Don't get discouraged. Weight watchers is a great program and you will love the instant support you will get there.

emoticonBeen there, done that! In fact, Iíve been there and done that several times!
Mistakes are a given; we are humans and are not perfect! †Let go of the need to be perfect. Every time you get off track and take a detour on this journey, you have two choices: to keep walking backwards and give up; or to accept your detour as normal and forgivable, and take not one, but two positive steps forward.
If you never have problems, youíll never have any successes. Youíre in the process of changing your lifestyle, and finding solutions that work for you will take a lot of trial and error.
We all have times like this! The important thing is that you accept that you did it, forgive yourself, and move forward.
You have many friends here who care about you and want you to succeed.
emoticonYou are strong, you can do it!
Stay positive and donít quit!

As long as you know what you did to gain the weight back you will not repeat it. But sometimes things like that do happen, you just have to keep on trucking. Don't let this setback get you down. Like you said hold your head up and move forward. You can make it.

Peace

Thank you for all your posts...I love yucca you all have to try it..it is a spanish veggie it has a waxy outside...looks like a sweet potato but black with waxy skin..take skin off and fry...but don't eat to many...

It was good and I am getting tired of the same foods...does anytone have any exciting foods they want to share.

Thanks again my friends,
Rose Marie

I ate fried sweet potato with no remorse! I use olive oil and am weaning my spouse away from french fries.
I keep asking him 'how do they taste?' "Do you like the texture..." No more mindless consumption!

I have never eaten it but would love to try it. Whether fried foods are okay depends on your diet plan. Low fat - not okay. Low carb - okay.

Hey you stayed within your calorie limits and that s what counts. I don't think having fried foods once in a great while is going to hurt or totally derail your diet. Keep up the wonderful work. Brightest blessings and warm hugs.

One fried food won't stop your progress. If it was something like fried yucca, I'd try it, too, as a new taste. You know the fried food is not good for daily consumption, you're making great choices every day! emoticon

I actually had to look this one up too. It sounds good, especially the traditional lemon-garlic dipping sauce! It's good that it fit into your calories! Eating health food 100% of the time will only drive you insane anyways.

Being Human

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

We all want to do what is best for us, but at times we are human and we can't always do what we want..it is time we stop making excuses for not doing what we need to do...Be positive and do the best you can.

LENT

Sunday, February 21, 2010

Today is the beginning of Lent. What will I give up...I usually give up sugar, white flour and anything sweet..well that I gave up a long time ago.

I plan on giving up laziness// I am hoping to excer everyday in some way or another. Putting Treadmill down on the floor tomorrow and doing more Yoga.

I think I can do this at least 3 to 6 times a week.

I like that you are making a meaningful commitment this year instead of something you are already doing. And it sounds achievable.

And here's hoping exercise becomes a real habit. Pick a time that is your time and I am sure it will.

If lent is the excuse you need to motivate you go for it. Just don't fall back into those bad habits once lent is over.
