Back on SparkPeople using the trackers to keep my goals and activities in the forefront. Seeing it in print helps immensely.

That always helps me too. Somehow it forces me to pay attention to what is going on with my body from what I put into it to how I make it move. Keep using them and it will help.

20-year class reunion!!

Sunday, August 09, 2009

OMG I'm getting old! emoticon I can't believe I've been out of HS that long. So, I have about 7 weeks left to lose 15 pounds. I'll be happy if I lose the 10 pounds I gained back this year, but trying for more!

I have to get back to logging in daily and using my goals and nutrition, fitness, and personal journals to keep me accountable. STARTING TODAY NOT TOMORROW!!!

So, I'm off to drink my first glass of water for the day and do a 10-minute Bootcamp video to start me on my way! emoticon

A new start (once again)

Monday, June 01, 2009

I'm ready to get my butt back in gear and smaller sizes. emoticon A new month, a new beginning.

I RAN my first 5k last week!! Well, jogged. My time was 37:48. Pretty good for someone who never ran more than a tenth of a mile at a time. emoticon

First 10K

Sunday, April 19, 2009

Completed my first 10K (6 miles) yesterday in walk/jog format. emoticon Didn't die, wasn't sore, had a great time. Walked with my roommate Rachel and part of the way with fellow Sparker Noel. Finished in 1:23. It was a great turnout for the Music Moves Me 10K inaugural race.

First SparkRally

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Hello everyone! Just wanted you to know that we had a small yet successful SparkRally this past Saturday. Thanks again to those who were able to make it on a rainy day; it was a pleasure to meet you. A couple of us still went on a walk and of course, got caught in the storm. It was kinda fun being in the rain, just next time, I'll hope it's not an electrical storm! So, I'm open for ideas and locations for the next Rally. Anyone interested in bowling, walking at the mall, roller skating, etc? By the way, I can't believe I forgot to take a picture at our Rally!

Here's a reminder about this coming weekend:

SparkPeople is having its first ever official “Show Your Spark” Day on Friday, January 16, 2009. SparkPeople members across the globe will be wearing their SparkPeople Gear and getting together at SparkRallies. Here at SparkPeople, we want to show our appreciation to you for “Showing Your Spark” by holding a contest for all those who participate in the day. Simply follow the steps below and SparkPeople will be giving away fun SparkPeople prizes to members randomly. Now get out there and “Show Your Spark”!

1.Wear Your SparkPeople Gear on January 16, 2009

2.Create or join a SparkRally in your city and let members know they should wear their SparkPeople gear to the Rally. If they do not have SparkPeople gear, they can purchase it at our SparkPeople Store.

3.Take a picture of you and your friends in their SparkPeople Gear and post it on your SparkPage.

4.Join the Spread the Spark Team and post to the “Show Your Spark Here” thread so we know to check out your photos at your SparkPage.

I wish I could have been there. I had a huge sinus infection. I went to Horizon on the Thursday before. Can't wait to hear where the next one is. I think the rain was a factor. I am so glad you had a good time.
