Workout realities

Having a sick child yesterday made me think about what I would do if I got sick. It would alter my workout plans and that caused me to fear the results of that. Would I have to fight myself to go back to the gym after I was well? Sadly, I know from experience that would probably be the situation. I so want to get to the point where exercise is such a normal part of my life that I desire it greatly. Can't say that yet. I used to have trouble drinking my 8-10 cups of water, but now if I'm behind I get thirsty for it. I pray that exercise will be like that someday soon.

    It will come to be something you miss in your daily routine if you can't make it for whatever reason! Trust me. I'm there today. Some, hopefully 24 hour stomach flu bug had me up all night in misery and now praying my stomach will accept the soup I've just tried and missing work today. I actually caught myself whining at my Hubby when he said, "if you're too sick for work you're too sick to workout or go to yoga" ~managing a smile~

  just keep at it and you'll feel like you've really missed something on the days you don't get to do it and you'll start to crave it. Stay focused!

My son woke up just in time to vomit in the middle of the night. My immediate thought after feeling bad for him was, "Oh no, we are going to have this pass to my husband and me!"
I've tried to be careful to keep things sanitized, doorknobs, light switches, flat surfaces, etc. but now, it seems like he brought this home to share. I'm trying to remember to wash thoroughly after taking care of him whether it's just adjusting his blankets or getting him a drink, but time alone will tell if we pick up the bug from him. Wonder if it's the swine or just garden variety flu strain?
Sorry for the downer, right now that's my world.

    Something we do at work is to have hand sanitizer for that quick fix after handling money. It helps with the chaffing that comes with TOO MUCH hand washing. That might be easier than scrubbing up every time you have to wipe a baby's nose?

Deadlines looming!

Deadlines are getting closer and closer. I'm feeling the pressure! Steps I need to take are to sit down, write down everything that needs to be done, prioritize it and then DO it! Just this simple task in the past has proved to be very therapuetic and relieves stress and gives me a plan that in theory should work! Have a great day!

  Thanks Cactus and Beth for your encouragement. Yesterday was so helpful to sit down and make a plan and then start to implement it. Hopefully, by Monday 90% of the plan will be implemented.

Getting my house in order

For quite some time I've realized that not only do I need to get my personal "house" (body) in order, but I need to clear things out of my house that are not useful anymore. I will do this by giving things away, selling some things and donating to the local Rescue Mission.

It's a freeing thought to clear unused and unwanted things out and it sure makes it easier to keep things in order.

Today, I am making steps by having an open house to sell products that I have an excess of.
I wonder why I procrastinate so long when I know what has to be done?

  Good luck! Recently did our homes closets and yes it is so invigorating to unload all that clutter! Planning to tackle 1 bedroom at a time next. Keeps my mind and hands busy.

    Good luck with both your body and your house. I am in the same process. Have made several trips to Goodwill,taking a little at a time. It is very difficult for me to part with some of "this stuff" Know it is for the best. Keep up your good work.

Choices, choices

This morning I'm realizing that even though my body is still sore from Monday's class, I will go to class this morning and be glad to be there because I'm doing what I need to do for my body, to make the changes my body has needed for years of being sedentary. If I chose to skip it, I will feel guilty because I agreed to attend these mandatory classes, and that choice would not be a step in the right direction.

Every day when we get up we all have a fresh new day to make good choices with the use of our time and energy or we can chose to not do the things we should do. We all know that making bad choices or no choice will lead to discouragement and even depression, which can lead to choices that continue the downward spiral that we are working so hard to change.

I can't afford to not do what I should do by following my eating plan and being as active as I possibly can! Can you? Make the best possible choices today! At the end of the day, you'll be glad that you did!! emoticon
