NEW DAY!

Thursday, November 12, 2009

I am such a morning person! I wake up and can't wait to get moving, whereas at night, I'm eager to get to bed and go to sleep! I love to make a plan for my day early in the morning. This has been a good thing for both my eating plan and exercise. For me, it's really true---fail to plan, plan to fail.

I pray that all my spark friends will plan out the things that will give them success today!
Make it a great day!! Ritarose

Planning is important. I like my day to go the way I plan it. Now-a-days, though, I have to expect the unexpected to happen sometimes. That's OK, too.

I have found out that my day goes by a lot better when I wake up early, get moving, and do my cardio. I have always been a morning person but have found a renewed energy since doing my cardio in the morning.

You are so right. I got up early this morning and the first thing I did was go to my Spark to begin my day.

I am also a morning person!! If I don't start my 'project du jour' early...it most likely won't get started after noon!!

Emotions and Eating

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

I realized that I have fewer times of emotional eating than I ever can remember! My eating plan yesterday was short circuited by the news that my nephew died after drunk driving, but I didn't over eat or eat what I shouldn't, I just didn't make sure I ate enough fruits and veggies. I find this a great surprise as it's a big turn around and I had no idea that it had occurred. I guess all of the training in what to eat, when to eat and why to eat are paying off without me even realizing it! This is great news!

Very sorry to hear about your nephew but I am very proud of you for the way you took control as opposed to being controlled by the situation. Getting control of your emotions will let you get through this time in a way where you can mourn and not feel angry about having to mourn once the immediate pain starts to subside.

We're here for you RITAROSE!

Sorry to hear the sad news about your nephew, that happened to my nephew too a few years ago.
But what a great victory for you...you have formed new eating habits and now without even realising it...you are doing it!! Very well done!!

Life is a vapor

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

I'm in shock after learning that my nephew died in a car wreck today. I was with friends when the call came and the immediate thought after the sadness was life is a vapor. I wanted to gather my husband and children in close to let them know how much they are loved. We don't know our time.....

Many thanks for your prayers and condolences! As we heard the entire story about his driving drunk in his corvette on the rural roads of WY it made us even sadder! What a waste of a young life! I grieve for the young man's little brother who has idolized him. He lost his only sibling. I'm thankful that no one else was involved. Again, thanks for being a caring community!

Workout realities

Monday, November 09, 2009

Having a sick child yesterday made me think about what I would do if I got sick. It would alter my workout plans and that caused me to fear the results of that. Would I have to fight myself to go back to the gym after I was well? Sadly, I know from experience that would probably be the situation. I so want to get to the point where exercise is such a normal part of my life that I desire it greatly. Can't say that yet. I used to have trouble drinking my 8-10 cups of water, but now if I'm behind I get thirsty for it. I pray that exercise will be like that someday soon.
Have a great week all!

It will come to be something you miss in your daily routine if you can't make it for whatever reason! Trust me. I'm there today. Some, hopefully 24 hour stomach flu bug had me up all night in misery and now praying my stomach will accept the soup I've just tried and missing work today. I actually caught myself whining at my Hubby when he said, "if you're too sick for work you're too sick to workout or go to yoga" ~managing a smile~

just keep at it and you'll feel like you've really missed something on the days you don't get to do it and you'll start to crave it. Stay focused!

flu

Sunday, November 08, 2009

My son woke up just in time to vomit in the middle of the night. My immediate thought after feeling bad for him was, "Oh no, we are going to have this pass to my husband and me!"
I've tried to be careful to keep things sanitized, doorknobs, light switches, flat surfaces, etc. but now, it seems like he brought this home to share. I'm trying to remember to wash thoroughly after taking care of him whether it's just adjusting his blankets or getting him a drink, but time alone will tell if we pick up the bug from him. Wonder if it's the swine or just garden variety flu strain?
Sorry for the downer, right now that's my world.

Remember, sanitize, rest, and fluids. Good luck!

Something we do at work is to have hand sanitizer for that quick fix after handling money. It helps with the chaffing that comes with TOO MUCH hand washing. That might be easier than scrubbing up every time you have to wipe a baby's nose?

This is something most of us will face in the coming months. It sounds like you are doing the best you can with the situation, just keep on doing what you are and maybe everyone else will get by without catching whatever it is that he has. Good Luck. Sandra
