This weekends challenge will help us declare freedom from a couple more pounds as we create the stars and stripes that make up Old Glory!

Challenge will run FRIDAY - TUESDAY

Stars: Perform 50 minutes Cardio daily to earn a emoticon

Stripes: Consume 7 glasses water daily AND 6 freggies consisting of AT LEAST 1 each Red, White and Blue to earn a emoticon

Earn both a emoticon and emoticon daily and celebrate the day with emoticon!

Since I slacked off on training over the weekend it was hard to get myself on the treadmill today, but giving up wasn't an option!

I slowed my pace down from 5.8 to 5.6 for a couple reasons! First being that I hadn't run since Friday and second I didn't want to push myself too hard and overrun the 25 minutes! As it is I ended up walking 1 minute as a result of my hip hurting! I thought I was gonna have to stop but I pushed through the last 9 minutes! Seems that my hip issue does this when I take more than a couple days off running! Other than the hip, I was feeling strong during the entire training, so I'm not feeling too bad about having to walk!

Here's how today went
1-5 w/u walk @ 4.0
5-20 run @ 5.6
20-21 walk @ 4.0
21-30 run @ 5.6
30-35 c/d walk @ 4.0

I'll probably be doing W7D1 tomorrow to get myself back on a F,Su,T training schedule! Long runs from here out... I'm ready to take them on!

Not really much to report today other than I got this done early in the morning...well for me at least! Felt strong through the entire training, HR stayed lower than normal, but that translates to less calories burned too!

Here's how today went

1-5 w/u walk @4.0
5-15 run @ 5.8
15-18 walk @ 4.0
18-28 run @ 5.8 (2.48 miles)
28-33 walk @ 4.0 (2.80 miles)

Boring results today.... avg hr 148, max hr 166, calories burned 277

I am surprised and pleased that I'm still running these longer intervals at 5.8! I really thought by this time that I would have to lower my speed! Maybe I shouldn't have spoke so soon... 25 min straight run coming Sunday! emoticon

I don't have a treadmill or a HRM so I have no idea how fast I'm running, but I suspect really slowly, lol. I'm on W7D2 (for tomorrow) and 25 minutes feels like a breeze!

It's an amazing feeling to be completing this! Keep rockin' it!
